Dear DG Members, The co-chairs and staff have prepared drafts of the Executive Summary, Matrix, and Draft Charter, which you will find attached, as well as on the Wiki (https://community.icann.org/display/DGNGSR/DRAFT+Deliverables) In addition, the co-chairs had the opportunity to provide an update on the progress of this group to the GNSO Council and answer their questions. We are happy to report that there were no objections raised in regards to the DG¹s approach. As noted in a previous email, the call scheduled for Monday, 25 May was cancelled as it is a holiday in a number of countries. However, in an effort to move the work of this group forward, a call will be scheduled for Tuesday, 26 May at 15:00 UTC. Please try and find some time to review the revised drafts, as trying to finalize them will be the focus of this upcoming meeting. Stephanie, And to add to Jeff and Bret¹s comments, another reason the community sentiment to date has seemed to lean towards a single PDP is because of resourcing concerns, from both a WG participant and ICANN staff perspective. We have tried to capture this, and the other considerations, on page 4 of the executive summary. We will run through the changes made to the documents on Tuesday¹s call. Question relating to overall implications to program of considerable changes

Hi All I had intended to ask this question on today's call, but as that didn't happen I'll ask on the list. It is possible that my question is out of scope of the DG, but I'd be interested in the thoughts of others. Given the potential for substantive changes to be made to the New gTLD Program as a result of the work of the DG and other reviews that are being undertaken, will any consideration be given to the disparity that may result between registry operators from this round and future rounds? I raise this question mostly in the context of the Registry Agreement. I would envisage a number of challenges in terms of compliance and for ICANN more generally in managing clients on different platforms in the event of a significantly revised Registry Agreement. This issue may have already been discussed by this group and I apologise if I missed it, but I would welcome thoughts of others about whether they foresee any problems or how this meta issue will be addressed in the reviews and other work moving forward. Dear DG Members, Staff and the Co-Chairs have worked on editing the DG¹s set of deliverables to incorporate suggestions from members as well as other updates. Please review the attached documents (also available on the Wiki here: https://community.icann.org/display/DGNGSR/DRAFT+Deliverables) ahead of the DG¹s next call on 27 April 2015. * Executive Summary: Adjusted the language to acknowledge that the DG's set of deliverables is slightly different than originally conceived. * Issues/Recommendations Matrix: Integrated the Board Resolution: Annex A (yellow text) and GDD Staff input paper (green text) into the matrix to ensure that the thoughts are not lost, while being sure to differentiate between the issues raised by the DG. * Draft Charter: Made some requested changes based on the 13 April call, which includes: > * Noting that the work should consider past efforts and that existing > recommendations remain in place unless the GNSO changes them > * Strengthening language to allow for some level of flexibility in the charter > for a future PDP(s) WG > * Allow for the possibility that there may not be any subsequent procedures We look forward to discussion of these documents on list as well as during the next DG call.
