Hi Kristy,
A huge thanks to the ASP Team on reaching this milestone of an impressive 106 active applications as of 19 November 2025 on the extended deadline day.
I am concerned though. As per the ASP stats page today https://newgtldprogram.icann.org/en/application-rounds/round2/asp/stats there are now 84 applications that still need to complete their organisational information , prior to being evaluated, and prior to the extended deadline day of 19 December 2025.
I think it is imperative that all 84 applications complete this information.
To give them every chance, would it be possible to extend the deadline ( again) to the end of the year or even into January 2026. I don’t think it will have a knock-on effect.
Another question. Clearly, with the 45 application budgeted target having been achieved , are steps being made for the ICANN Board to approve an additional $15-$20m to fund the remaining applications( assuming of course they pass the evaluation), so each successful application would receive a 75% discount on their application fee for the next Round.
Would it be possible to set up a Sub Pro IRT ASP meeting in the next week or two to discuss further.
Regards,
Phil

Hi Anne, all,
It looks like between 19 OCT and 19 NOV we had +41 Organizations Submitted and +11 Applications Submitted. The extension announcement was on 9 OCT. Some orgs submitted had started the process prior to the announcement, but we have the numbers from the monthly statistics updates. Hope that helps!
Kind regards,
Kristy

Greetings,
Yesterday, 19 November, was the first deadline in the Applicant Support Program (ASP) application submission period. As you may recall, ICANN announced an extension <https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-extends-deadline-for-a…> : applicants that enter organizational information in the system by 19 November 2025 will have until 19 December 2025 to submit a complete application.
126 submitted their Organizational details to ICANN. Of these, 106 are considered “active”. Meaning, the applicant has had some activity in the ASP Application System in the last 90 days. Active submitted Organizations are distributed across the ICANN regions as follows:
* Africa: 22
* APAC: 41
* Europe: 11
* LAC: 4
* N. America: 28
Many thanks to everyone in the ASP-IRT, SubPro-IRT, and broader ICANN Community who contributed to reaching this milestone. We look forward to sharing an update with the final application submission numbers on 19 December.
Kind regards,
Kristy, on behalf of the ASP Team
