Subject: [Subpro-irt-asp] Pro Bono Service Provider Orientation Webinar
Dear ASP IRT Sub-Track,
I hope you are well. I am writing to follow up on the discussion during our last ASP IRT Sub-Track call<https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPIR/pages/204242945/2025…> around inviting IRT members to participate in the Pro Bono Professional Service Provider Orientation Webinar.
The webinar will be for the pro bono professional service providers and mentors who have volunteered to provide support and guidance to ASP supported applicants, and will cover the following topics:
1. Overview and Introductions
2. Role Descriptions
3. Working with Supported Applicants
4. IRT Input: Perspectives on critical areas of focus to guide Supported Applicants through the gTLD application and evaluation process.
5. Q&A
As discussed during the last ASP-IRT meeting, it sounded like some of you might be interested in providing input on areas where you feel it may be beneficial for supported applicants to receive additional guidance and benefit from professional service provider and mentor expertise and experience. We’re currently planning for this agenda item in the last 20 minutes of the webinar, in case you’d like to only join for that portion of the call but you are welcome to join for the entirety, of course.
We are currently looking to schedule the webinar for the week of 26 May 2025, and would like those interested in participating to indicate their availability in the following doodle poll: https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/axLjZrPa
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the doodle poll by 23:59 UTC on Friday, 9 May 2025.
Thank you very much, we look forward to your participation in the webinar.
Kind Regards,
Samantha Mancia

Greetings IRT and ASP-IRT members (please forgive the cross-post),
Further to our discussion today during Meeting #138<https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SPIR/pages/181141583/2025…>, we are sharing the proposed revisions to the ASP bid credit on the EXT drive<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bIu1lRxe4zr-lKRlfoQzd9dayoysItb4-AtvXUz…>.
As noted during the meeting, we are proposing these revisions for two reasons:
1. The edits intend to clarify that the bid credit indeed acts as a credit as well as a discount. The credit allows supported applicants to bid higher than they might otherwise, thereby increasing their chance of winning (per the stated rationale for policy Rec 17.15<https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/file/field-file-attach/final-rep…>). The bid credit also provides a discount by reducing the amount due by the winning supported applicant.
2. These revisions aim to further mitigate risks associated with ICANN providing undue financial benefits to private parties (in the case that the winning price paid by the supported applicant exceeds the financial thresholds needed to qualify for support).
Many thanks for your initial review during the meeting. Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments.
Kind regards,
Kristy
