Dear All, The public comment proceeding for Root Zone Label Generation Rules Version 5 (RZ-LGR-5) is now open for public comment. Following scripts have been integrated to the RZ-LGR-5: Arabic, Armenian, Bangla, Chinese (Han), Cyrillic, Devanagari, Ethiopic, Georgian, Greek, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Hebrew, Japanese [Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji (Han)], Kannada, Khmer, Korean [Hangul and Hanja (Han)], Lao, Latin, Malayalam, Myanmar, Oriya, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, and Thai. Kindly review if your script LGR has been integrated into the RZ-LGR-5 as expected. Feedback from Generation Panels and script communities are essential for finalizing the RZ-LGR. In addition, the Armenian and Cyrillic script GPs have also finalized their proposals, which were deferred from including them in RZ-LGR by the Integration Panel (IP), because they were related to Greek and Latin scripts. The IP has successfully evaluated the RZ-LGR proposals<https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/lgr-proposals-2015-12-01-en> for these scripts and integrated them, along with other scripts into the current RZ-LGR version, to develop the fifth version (RZ-LGR-5). As per the LGR Procedure<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/lgr-procedure-20mar13-en.pdf>, RZ-LGR-5 is being released for Public Comment to gather community feedback for its finalization. Proposals for additional scripts will be integrated into future versions of RZ-LGR. Background Community-based GPs organize and develop proposals for the RZ-LGR for their respective scripts or writing systems as per the LGR Procedure<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/draft-lgr-procedure-20mar13-en.…>. In doing so, the GPs may need to coordinate efforts with other GPs whenever their repertoires either overlap or are closely related. Script proposals are finalized after Public Comment proceedings and then are submitted to the Integration Panel (IP) for evaluation. The successfully evaluated proposals are integrated into the next version of RZ-LGR. In the LGR Procedure<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/draft-lgr-procedure-20mar13-en.…>, it states that the IP creates a set of recommended rules that integrates all the approved proposals from the GPs. When the IP has created such a set, it is posted for Public Comment using the prevailing ICANN procedures. At the end of the Public Comment period, the IP receives and reviews the Public Comment to finalize the LGR. The resulting rules become the RZ-LGR. RZ-LGR-5 covers the following scripts: Arabic, Armenian, Bangla, Chinese (Han), Cyrillic, Devanagari, Ethiopic, Georgian, Greek, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Hebrew, Japanese [Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji (Han)], Kannada, Khmer, Korean [Hangul and Hanja (Han)], Lao, Latin, Malayalam, Myanmar, Oriya, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, and Thai. CGP Proposal published for Public Comment !

Dear CGP members The Chinese LGR proposal has been published for Public Comment. https://www.icann.org/public-comments/lgr-proposal-chinese-script-2020-02-2… Based on the proposal draft 1.7 we shared in the January,IP helped correct some minor errors and published the above one for public comment. Thank you all for the hard work and support in the past 5 years. Pleases review the doc at the URL and feel free to give your comments. Much appreciation to Kenny and Edmon, the co-chair and the advisor, they keep working on the prosoal and join every CGP session in ICANN meetings. CGP Proposal 1.7

Hi Kenny and all Pleaes find the new genegrated CGP Proposal 1.7 as attached and feel free to give your comments. In response to IP's latest feedback repport, I corrected the typo and reworded some paragraph in the proposal and XML files. The most importantly, CGP invited the linguistic experts to review the 50 outstanding J-only Kanji characters, plus the J-only/K-only characters reviewed in 2017, finally CGP imported 78 out-of-repertoire-var into the CLGR. All changes and updates are summarized in the "Response" file. @Sarmad and @Pitinan, I am still waitting for the feedback from HK linguistic expert on 50 new J-only Kanji. Dear Sarmad, Pitinan and all Please find the attached "CGP-LGR-Proposal-1.6-201909-clean.docx" as well as the other appendix documents. The document has been updaed according to the feedback from IP in August( "Feedback to CGP-LGR201907-report_20190811-clean.docx") The main changes are: 1. accepted the new visual similarity variants proposed by IP. 2. imported 144 JGP unique Kanji chars into CLGR 3. removed 6 new types that CGP created in the last proposal draft(V.201906) Please feel free to give your comment and share the documents with IP for their further guidance. Sept 27th CGP & CDNC joint meeting invitation

Hi Sarmad and all CDNC'2019 will be held on 26th-28th in Taiwan,all Chinese IDN ccTLD registries as well as some gTLD registries will attend this annual meeting. We'd like to have the session of CGP&CDNC joint meeting on 27th/Friday morning 9:00-12:00.(UTC+8) I'd like to invite Sarmad to bring up the updates of root LGR project. I will take the chance to introduce the latest feedback from IP and the new version of CGP proposal draft corresponding to it. Everyone is welcome to participate in this meeting. We are pretty close to the final version of CGP proposal, hopefully, we can fix the few outstanding issues in the coming meeting. @Sarmad and @Pitinan, could you please help setup the remote conference room for those can not attend in person?
