ICANN Publishes U.S. Tax Returns for Fiscal Year Ending 30 June 2021

Dear ICANN Community, On April 28th , ICANN and its affiliate Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) published several returns required by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS), California Franchise Tax Board, and California Attorney General's office for nonprofit organizations for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2021. IRS Form 990 the U.S. tax form that nonprofit organizations exempt from income taxes are required to file, was filed for ICANN and its affiliate pursuant to section 501(c) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The California CA-199 and CA RRF-1 returns, which nonprofit organizations are required to file, were filed for ICANN and its affiliate with the appropriate government offices, including the California Franchise Tax Board and the California Attorney General's office. Dear ICANN Community: On 30 March 2022, the ICANN organization (org) published the Public Comment Summary Report for ICANN's draft FY23–27 Operating & Financial Plan, and the draft ICANN FY23 Operating Plan and Budget. The proceeding ran from 07 December 2021 to 07 February 2022. ICANN Audited Financials Published

Dear ICANN Community, On October 25th, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) published its audited consolidated financial statements and Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) published its audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending 30 June 2021. * Click here<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/icann-financial-report-fye-30ju…> to view the ICANN FY21 Audited Consolidated Financial Statements * Click here<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/pti-audited-financial-report-fy…> to view the PTI FY21 Audited Financial Statements The audited financial statements for both ICANN and PTI are accompanied by an "unqualified" opinion from BDO USA, LLP, ICANN's and PTI's independent audit firm, indicating that the audit did not identify any issues. Starting with FY21, all public, private, and non-profit entities (including ICANN) were required to adopt a new revenue recognition standard, ASC 606, which was issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Adopting this standard had no impact to ICANN's funding, cash balances, or fees collected from registries and registrars. Rather, the adoption of ASC 606 only impacted the timing of the recognition of the revenue from the application fees associated with the 2012 round of the New gTLD Program.
