Notice of Expiration of Approval Action Community Forum Period and Start of Approval Action Decision Period

Dear Empowered Community Administration representatives, In accordance with the timelines and procedures set out in Annex D of the ICANN Bylaws, staff notes that the Approval Action Community Forum Period pertaining to the fundamental bylaw amendment regarding the IANA Naming Function Review Team Composition that was approved by the Board has expired and Approval Action Decision Period has started by 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, 7 November 2019. As such, at any time or date prior to 11:59 p.m. PST, Thursday 28 November 2019, with respect to the fundamental bylaw amendment regarding the IANA Naming Function Review Team Composition, each Decisional Participant shall inform the EC Administration in writing as to whether such Decisional Participant (i) supports such Approval Action, (ii) objects to such Approval Action or (iii) has determined to abstain from the matter (which shall not count as supporting or objecting to such Approval Action), and each Decisional Participant shall forward such notice to the Secretary for ICANN to promptly post on the Website. If a Decisional Participant does not inform the EC Administration of any of the foregoing prior to the expiration of the Approval Action Decision Period, the Decisional Participant shall be deemed to have abstained from the matter (even if such Decisional Participant informs the EC Administration of its support or objection following the expiration of the Approval Action Decision Period). Notice of Expiration of Rejection Action Petition Periods for Board Approval of Standard Bylaws Amendment regarding (1) RSSAC Leadership Composition and (2) SSAC Leadership Terms

Dear Empowered Community Administration representatives, I am writing to confirm that, in accordance with the timelines and procedures set out in Annex D of the ICANN Bylaws, the 21-day Rejection Action Petition Periods pertaining to the (1) Standard Bylaws Amendment regarding RSSAC Leadership Composition and (2) Standard Bylaws Amendment regarding SSAC Leadership Terms that were approved by the ICANN Board have expired. No Rejection Action Petition Notices (as defined in Annex D, Section 2.2(c)(i)) were received by the Empowered Community Administration within the prescribed timeframe. As such, under Annex D, Section 2.2(c)(ii), the Rejection Process for the Standard Bylaws Amendment regarding RSSAC Leadership Composition and the Rejection Process for the Standard Bylaws Amendment regarding SSAC Leadership Terms are thus automatically terminated. The next step is for the Empowered Community Administration to deliver to the ICANN Secretary two notices certifying that the Rejection Processes have been terminated with respect to these particular Rejection Actions. ICANN will then post the Rejection Process Termination Notices on the ICANN website. Please let staff know if the Empowered Community Administration wishes for staff to assist you with the requisite Rejection Process Termination Notices.
