Dear IGO&INGO IRT, Thanks to the members contributing to the final updates. At today’s IRT meeting, we’ve reviewed and accepted all suggested changes except for one. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cAVS27yshnZIVrbwQQ_zFXWMnOXtcQasj4fnmPO…<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cAVS27yshnZIVrbwQQ_zFXWMnOXtcQasj4fnmPO…> You’ll note that an implementation note number 4 regarding RPM has yet to be accepted. While the IRT members attending meeting agreed that the proposed addition provides good clear explanation, we felt that is was important to have it highlighted to all IRT members as the RPM in relations to this policy has come up as a complex and often confused subject. To be clear, unless we receive objections, we plan to accept the addition to produce our final product next week. On the point of RPM, we plan to make use of FAQs to supplement the implementation note with further explanation as needed. Loris has kindly volunteered to propose the Q&A for our review to be added to our FAQs page: https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=64079089 Since this will be our final update, it’s important that all IRT member review the final document prior to publication. Even if you do not have further comments, we’d appreciate your reply of support for the final version. It’s been a long journey with many challenges with a few seemingly impossible obstacles. As I previously indicated, I forwarded your letter to the RySG upon receipt and there has been discussion in the SG on this topic since then. Although members did voice appreciation that ICANN staff reached out to the SG in this proactive fashion to determine our level of support for the proposal as drafted in your letter, the SG as a whole has not ratified a formal position of support. As such, I am loath to try and sum up an SG position for you, beyond the aforementioned appreciation for the way staff have handled this and also, I think it's fair to say, a feeling that the proposal itself is a good faith attempt at taking registry views and realities into account. Thanks Crystal for the insight! Very helpful indeed. I agree that we should proceed and I’d like the IRT as a whole to support as well. Tomorrow’s IRT meeting is, therefore, important for IRT to attend. In addition to the decision to proceed, we’ll review the policy language one last time for final publication. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cAVS27yshnZIVrbwQQ_zFXWMnOXtcQasj4fnmPO… Please review the changes prior to the meeting to make our meeting more efficient. Our plan is to complete to finalize the policy language tomorrow and barring any objections we’ll proceed to the announcement and publication.
