Thank You Tony _____ Invitation to business cocktail with ICANN board and leadership, RSVP required When: Sunday 1 March 2009 Time: 1800-1900 Where: Dona Sol room in the ICANN venue hotel, Mexico City Organized by: BC, ISPC, IPC, with support from ICC and ICANN Action requested: This invitation is being sent to members of the BC, ISPC and IPC constituencies, who are requested to inform their constituency chairs/secretariat if they would like to participate in this opportunity to interact with the members of the ICANN Board and senior leadership, by 18 February. Capacity is limited, and thus participation must be confirmed well in advance. Constituencies are requested to provide a full list of their members who have confirmed, with names, titles and affiliations by 19 February. Programme: The Chair of ICANN's Board has been asked to provide brief remarks on issues of particular importance to business. Subject to confirmation, proposed topics will include ICANN in the context of the new US administration, and how ICANN plans to adjust in the current financial climate (financial and travel restrictions being faced by business and other stakeholders, the impact on participation and engagement). A few representatives from business will provide very brief input (Tony Holmes-ISPC, Steve Metalitz-IPC, Zahid Jamil-BC) and the remainder of the time will be for informal discussion among the participants. The topics for this opportunity to interact with ICANN Board members and senior leadership are distinct from those that will be addressed at the cross-constituency breakfast.

Guys, I checked with the event host organization (AMIPCI). Here's what we must do: Once you have your baggage and exit customs, you will see some booths that are identified as "Servicio de Taxi autorizado". You tell them your destination, pre-pay the trip and walk outside. You then look for the taxi rank (it is identified and the cabs are painted yellow and white, with graphics depicting a plane on the doors. You should be careful, when pre-paying the fare, to specify that you want to go to the "Hotel Sheraton Centro Historico, frente a la Alameda Central" (because there are three Sheratons in the city). CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS - gNSO RESTRUCTURING WORK TEAMS This is a very important opportunity for you to serve the constituency and the ICANN community as a whole. As part of the restructuring of ICANN, the ISP community needs to be actively engaged in the work of making improvements to the structure and work of the gNSO. This is an opportunity for you to participate and make sure that the voice of the ISP community is heard at this important time. The gNSO is forming Work Teams to implement specific improvements in the following five areas: 1] A new and improved Policy Development Process (PDP) 2] A standardized Working Group model for GNSO policy development GNSO Council operations 3] Stakeholder group and constituency processes and operations; and 4] Efforts to improve the various communications functions in the GNSO community that will lead to broader and more effective participation in all policy development activities. These Work Teams are open to all ICANN stakeholders, providing an opportunity for broad sharing of insights and expertise.
