As some of you might have seen. it seem that Jacqueline thinks that comments from myself and others on NA RALO are soo inappropiate that it requires a referral to the ombudsman for his comment. Frankly, i'm amazed and shocked. Dear Colleagues, In one of our past RALO sessions we talked about the desire to get information about IPv6 to both the ALAC and the At Large Structures. Yesterday, ICANN published just such a thing: an IPv6 fact sheet, which ICANN describes as "an explanation of the protocol upgrade for a non-technical audience in the hope of enlarging public understanding surrounding this and related issues." This is a great thing to share with your At Large Structure. Chair of NARALO

Dear Colleagues, In light of Evan's interest in serving as Chair, I decided to defer to his substantial enthusiasm and ability to make the time-commitment to the NARALO and give him my support, rather than running against him. Evan will make a fine chair of the NA-RALO. At the close of the nomination period, Evan is our only candidate for Chair. Our NA-RALO meeting is Tuesday in Los Angeles from 10:00 am Pacific - 1:00 pm Pacific. (Personally, I think we can plan to end at noon.) Because Evan will not be physically present in Los Angeles, what I suggest is that I continue to serve as Interim Chair through the Tuesday meeting, and as the last order of business on the Tuesday agenda, we elect Evan as Chair by acclamation for a term that will begin immediately and end at the close of ICANN's annual meeting in 2008. Just prior to going on vacation for a couple of weeks, we (WebWatch) worked with Bob Sullivan of MSNBC on this story: http://redtape.msnbc.com/2007/09/to-some-its-the.html >From the article you can of course see WebWatch's point of view. Wendy Seltzer is quoted as well, with a different perspective. But more interesting, in a way, than the article itself are the forty-odd comments from users. Most of what we hear at WebWatch are comments similar to the one posted by a Michael Buie in Raleigh, NC: "I don't know what should be done. I just want the SPAM to stop!" Beau Brendler
