ARIN 38 final day..

ARIN 38 conference continued into Day 3 yesterday with more policy discussions, reports from/on ARIN. I especially found the Whois Accuracy and Public Safety discussion to be informative since one does not hear about this in daily conversations. The meeting came to a close yesterday and I sincerely thank ICANN through ICROPP support for providing me this valuable opportunity to attend this conference. Hello All: We eased ourselves into the ARIN conference yesterday by attending the Newcomer Orientation (https://www.arin.net/vault/participate/meetings/reports/ARIN_38/PDF/PPM/new…) but only after catching the last 20 minutes of the NANOG 68 Keynote by Vint Cerf on IoT. This ARIN conference overlapped with NANOG and DNS-OARC events. I suggest in future we should take advantage of this overlap:-). It is great to meet Alfredo Calderon-Serrano with ISOC Puerto Rico Chapter sharing and exchanging ideas. Also got to meet with the Tanzania ISOC Chapter. Much interest from Jamaica, Nigeria & Barbados Fellows. Rod Rasmussen is VP of cybersecurity at Infoblox. He is widely recognized as a leading expert on the abuse of the domain name system by criminals. Rasmussen co-founded and led the technical side of IID, a cybersecurity company focused on cyber incident response and information sharing which was purchased by Infoblox in early 2016. Rasmussen has is a highly active participant, often in leadership roles in industry and other global organizations addressing many of the cybersecurity issues of the day. Rasmussen is co-chair of the Anti-Phishing Working Group’s (APWG) Internet Policy Committee and serves as an APWG Industry Liaison. In this role, he works closely with ICANN, the international oversight body for domain names, and is a member of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC). Rasmussen is a member of the Online Trust Alliance’s (OTA) Steering Committee and is a member of the FCC's Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (FCC CSRIC). Rasmussen is also an active participant in the Messaging Malware Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG), and is IID's Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) representative.
