PARA PUBLICACIÓN INMEDIATA 23 de agosto de 2010 Se buscan candidatos de la comunidad de usuarios de Internet para ser miembros de la Junta Directiva El grupo de ICANN que representa a usuarios individuales de Internet llama a candidatos que estén interesados en ayudar en el desarrollo de políticas mientras que se desempeñen como miembros de la Junta Directiva de la organización. La comunidad de alcance de ICANN (que representa a usuarios individuales de Internet) está realizando una búsqueda global para ocupar el cargo de miembro de la Junta reservado para un usuario de Internet que no represente a ningún gobierno en particular, empresa o entidad sin fines de lucro. “Se trata de darle voz al usuario promedio de Internet de todos los días en la organización global sin fines de lucro encargada de coordinar el sistema de direccionamiento de Internet,” dijo Cheryl Langdon-Orr, el presidente del comité asesor de alcance (ALAC). “ICANN quiere escuchar a todos los segmentos de la comunidad de Internet, incluyendo a los individuos que generalmente sienten que no tienen voz en la creación de políticas.” ALAC está buscando a alguien con una amplia perspectiva internacional y antecedentes en los intereses de los usuarios de Internet, políticas de usuarios y/o sociedades civiles en todo el mundo. Dear All, The nomination period for the open NARALO positions have recently ended. There was only one candidate for each of the three open positions who was nominated AND accepted his or her nomination. Therefore, the following nominees have been confirmed for their respective position: NARALO ALAC Representative: Evan Leibovitch As stated in the ICANN Bylaws Article XI section 2, rule 4c (available here: http://www.icann.org/en/general/bylaws.htm#XI) the NARALO ALAC representative will be serving for a term of two years starting at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2010 and ending at the close of the ICANN AGM in 2012. Dear All, According to our information, you are eligible to register as an unaffiliated member of the North American At-Large Organization (NARALO). Registered unaffiliated NARALO members will be able to participate in the NARALO votes. To register as an unaffiliated member, please send a short Statement of Interest (SOI) to staff(a)atlarge.icann.org by Sunday August 22nd 2010. In order to limit list traffic, please do not reply to all recipients of this message. We will send out the complete list of registered unaffiliated members shortly after the submission deadline. The SOI needs to state that you meet the requirements for unaffiliated members outlined below. Please also include your preferred email address, alternative email address and your phone number in the SOI for reference. Your contact information will not be made publicly available. Dear All, As per decision at the NARALO call on August 9th 2010, we are now calling for nominations for the position of representative of unaffiliated NARALO Members. Please send your nominations for this position to the NA-Discuss list until Sunday August 22nd, 2010. You may also nominate yourself. Position Description The representative of the unaffiliated NARALO members will participate in the NARALO General Assemblies and other circumstances as required on behalf of the unaffiliated members. The term will run for a period from the close of the 2010 AGM until the close of the AGM 2011. Technically correct, but misleading (although surely not intended as such). I would have to check the dates, but I think that the first ALAC Liaison to the Board was indeed a NARALO unaffiliated member. But prior to that there were two other Liaisons from the "Interim ALAC" which unfortunately was generically referred to as the ALAC. Call for regional members of the ALAC/At-Large Improvements work teams

CALL FOR REGIONAL MEMBERS OF THE ALAC/AT-LARGE IMPROVEMENTS WORK TEAMS The ALAC/At-Large Improvements project is moving ahead. The goal is to review and improve both ALAC/At-Large’s participation in ICANN and the ALSes’ participation in At-Large. This will be done through the implementation of the 13 recommendations detailed in the Simplified At-Large Improvements Implementation Outline (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhOqmBdY590QdExXZklQLVRZZUtncm1xSDZ…) We have divided these recommendations into four groups, each of which will be assigned a work team consisting of ALAC members and regional representatives. These recommendation groups (and work teams) are listed below. The ALAC is now looking for one representative from each RALO to join each of the four work teams. We ask that interested ALS representatives respond to the At-Large Staff (staff(a)atlarge.icann.org<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org>) no later than Wednesday, 11 August 2010. Each work team is expected to schedule a call every two weeks. As with other At-Large work groups, these teams will conduct their business in English. For more details, please see the Improvements Project Plan (attached). The four recommendation groups and work teams are: Work team A: Work team on ALAC's continuing purpose Rec 1: ICANN bylaws to reflect ALAC's continuing purpose Rec 10: ALAC/At-Large is home of individual Internet users Rec 11: Board statement recognizing Rec 10 Work team B: Work team on ALS participation Rec 3: Remove any obstacles in ALS-RALO-ALAC structure Rec 4: ALS education and engagement Rec 7: ALAC should choose its own communication/collaboration tools Rec 9: ICANN should strengthen its translation/interpretation tools Work team C: Work team on ALAC planning processes Rec 5: ALAC should develop strategic/operational plans as part of ICANN’s planning process Rec 6: At-Large should develop accurate cost models Work team D: Work team on ALAC's policy advice development Rec 8: ALAC may request public comment period be extended to 45 days Rec 12: Consumer representatives should have input into decisions and policy advice Rec 13: ALAC/At-Large policy advice mechanisms should be strengthened

In Section III, part C there is a lengthy piece on GlavMed. This is the version posted on our site since 20 June, the start of the Brussels conference, the same version we released publicly, the same version sent to ICANN. And this is just the part about GlavMed and eNom. Section III Part D takes a deep look at the Rx-Partner's network. Section I part D discusses eNom issues as they related to the EvaPharmacy network. Section I Part E demonstrates WHOIS compliance issues as they relate to illicit pharmacies. In general the report is focused on this specific problem.
