If there is no opposition to this proposal within the next 24 hours, we will take it as a consensus of NARALO that the CCC be accepted as an ALS, and to submit that recommendation to ALAC for final approval. Dear Naralo Members The Consumers Council of Canada, based in Toronto, Canada is seeking to become an ALS. They are going through a due diligence process and I want to see approval as Acting Secretariat of other members in NARALO about their application and whether we should support their interest in becoming an ALS in Naralo. I am seeking any comments you have on this group and your thoughts on them wanting to become an ALS. Passwords were stored in a hard to crack format, said Icann, and added it had deactivated passwords so those with legitimate access to CZDS would have to generate a new one. Leave of Absence (as discussed on NARALO call Monday)

Dear Colleagues, Due to a death and now a serious illness in my immediate family I am unable to devote the time and attention to NARALO matters that the region deserves. For this reason I am requesting a temporary leave of absence from my duties as NARALO Chair. My proposed schedule would be to suspend my role as chair beginning after the 8 December 2014 monthly NARALO teleconference and then resuming upon the 13 April 2015 monthly NARALO call. Due to this request, arrangements for substitute leadership will be needed. Based on consensus among NARALO leadership, my recommendation is for NARALO Secretariat Evan Leibovitch to assume the temporary role of Acting NARALO chair and for Judith Hellerstein to serve in the temporary role of Acting Secretariat. In previous discussions, Judith was to serve in the exploratory role of "Vice Chair," an unofficial position. As part of the role of Vice Chair, the assignment would require assuming leadership duties including conducting NARALO activity coordination, managing monthly teleconferences, and representing the region at the next ICANN meeting. To enable Judith to perform these duties I request that staff ensure that travel sponsorship allocated to the NARALO be transferred to the Judith Hellerstein for this meeting. I want to thank everyone who has participated in the recent call for consensus, on what is a difficult issue to deal with. We have achieved the necessary level of consensus and can now move forward. As a result, until Garth's return in April, I will be assuming the role of Acting Chair of NARALO and Judith will serve as Vice-Chair and Acting Secretariat. I will remain in contact with Garth and consult with him on issues to the extent he would like, and I fully recognize the temporary nature of these appointments.
