My name is Doug Isenberg. I am an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), founder of The GigaLaw Firm and publisher (since 2000) of the GigaLaw website, which provides curated daily news clips about Internet legal issues and blog posts about Internet law. I have been advising clients on domain name disputes and domain name transactions since 1996 - prior to adoption of the UDRP. Today, my legal practice focuses largely on online brand protection, including representing clients under UDRP, URS and various ccTLD dispute policies. I also represented parties in new gTLD objection proceedings. I serve as a panelist for three of the four UDRP service providers (WIPO, the Forum and CAC), as well as a panelist for .ca disputes at BCICAC. I am a member of the IPC and INTA. Hi all, most of you know me already, but for those who don't, I am your friendly neighborhood GNSO councillor of the Registrar Stakeholder group. As registrar, we have a lot of operational experience with the implementation details of many of the existing RPMs, so ask me about everything relating to the good, the bad and the ugly of the existing RPMs. I have no compunctions about questioning any established process and believe everything should be on the table for this review. If there is room for improvement, we should go for it. The review should take into account all parties involved in the existing RPMs and the problems they face: rights holder, registrants, potential registrants, service providers and third parties affected. All, My name is Jeff Neuman and I am Senior Vice President for both Valideus USA and Com Laude USA. As Susan Payne explained, Valideus provides new gTLD consultancy and registry management services to prospective and existing new gTLD registry operators and have advised clients on the implementation of the RPMs as part of their ICANN compliance obligations. Com Laude is a corporate registrar which provides domain name management and online brand management services to businesses, and acts as an official Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) agent. For those of you who don't know me, I am an Intellectual Property lawyer by training and have been actively involved in domain name / cyberspace law for the past twenty years. I, like several others in this group, participated in the original working groups in the late 1990s that established the original UDRP. I was also one of the originators of the original Sunrise proposals used by the "new TLDs" back in the 2000 round and was the creator of the Intellectual Property Claims process (now called Trademark Claims) which was first utilized by .BIZ. I have participated actively in each of the new gTLD rounds to date. Prior to working at my present company, Valideus/Com Laude, I worked at Neustar for close to 15 years in the Registry Services organization both on the legal and policy side. Through that work, I participated in the application, administration and operation of the .BIZ top-level domain in 2000, as well as the application and implementation processes for the back-end operation of several sponsored TLDs in the 2005 round and hundreds of new gTLDs in the 2012 round. With respect to the latest round of new gTLDs, I have been very active serving on numerous GNSO subcommittees since 2005, including those that initially established the program. In addition, I served as the exclusive registry stakeholder group member on the Implementation Review Team (IRT) to recommend Rights Protection Mechanisms for the new gTLD Program to the ICANN Board as well as the GNSO's STI Group to devise implementation mechanisms for those Rights Protection mechanisms. Further, I also helped lead a small group to ensure that the Trademark Clearinghouse was implemented in a centralized (vs. decentralized) manner. Hello all, Me being Theo Geurts, working for a Registrar in the Netherlands called Realtime Register B.V. This might be a tiny suprise for this group (after reading all your SOI's), I am no lawyer, nor do I have a legal background ;) But as a Registrar, I had my fair share, dealing with UDRP's since 2009 and sure enough, the Registrants who are usually very confused when they are "hit" by a UDRP. Though the UDRP is in general working very well, there also seems to be a disconnect with underdeveloped regions, where the domain name owners have actually no clue how to act or how to defend themselves. And I guess that goes to a certain extent for the developed regions where the less informed or less educated or less legal informed registered domain name holder has a disadvantage compared to the plaintiff. Furthermore, I hope when we look at an operational level, I hope we can also improve the entire process. I was also involved in IRTP-D, a policy where registrars can get an ICANN approved dispute provider involved when it comes to domain transfers that might or might not have been illegal. My practice also primarily focuses on domestic and international trademark law, Internet governance, and domain name matters including both brand protection and advising new gTLD registry operators (including of both .Brand and open generic new gTLDs). Hello and hope this message finds everyone well, I am a business owner (multiple businesses) in addition to my primary role in providing consulting, implementation, and project management services in the health and benefits space. I am also extremely interested in Internet Governance and ICANN work, have developed a passion for domain investing, and the impact it has on business worldwide. This is an incredibly important undertaking and hope to become a valuable team member. The more deeply immersed in the domain world, the more I studied, the more company and individual stories about Internet Governance are documented, the more I understand the positive impact as well as the negative and financial impact the lack of clear rules and regulation can.
