New ALS Application from *Online News Association* This is another example of excellent outreach by Garth to the media hubs in the US. According to their application the report they have 1,708 in the professional class, 245 students, 283 journalism instructors, and 105 associate members. According to their application their mission is ... Inspiring innovation and excellence among digital journalists to better serve the public. . This means they have paid dues from 2,300 members . Since we are striving to engage the media and social media in particular we have an opportunity to engage this community and help disseminate our important message to the wider community. The ALAC greatly appreciates your group's interest in involving individual users in ICANN and looks forward to working with you and your colleagues. The purpose of ALS certification is to recognize that your organization meets the necessary criteria to involve individual Internet users at the local or issue level in ICANN activities, and that your organization will support its individual members' informed participation in ICANN efforts that affect end-users. Dear all, On behalf of NARALO Leaders we are announcing the following: This is the formal call for Expressions of Interest on various elected/selected positions within NARALO. This call is being made in accordance with the NARALO Operating Principles (https://community.icann.org/x/Z44i) The selection procedures for Chair, Secretariat Alan Member and Nominating Committee (NomCom) delegate are detailed below. If you would like to nominate someone or to put yourself forward for selection, please post on the NA-DISCUSS Mailing List - previous nominations will not be considered. Anyone self-nominating or accepting a nomination must have an At-Large Statement of Interest posted at https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+New+SOIs+Workspace. The process can be monitored at https://community.icann.org/x/GjPRAg. POSITIONS * NARALO Chair: Currently held by Garth Bruen. Current term ends on 16 October 2014 at the end of the 2014 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The new term starts immediately after the end of the current term and continues until the end of the 2015 AGM. Garth is elegible for re-selection. * NARALO Secretariat: Currently held by Glenn McKnight. Current term ends on 16 October 2014 at the end of the 2014 AGM. It is possible but not recommended to submit more than one name to the ALAC. The ALAC is not bound to accept RALO recommendations.
