Several questions were asked of each SubGroup Rapporteur, due before the 09 Feb Plenary (this Friday). Here are the answers for my SubGroups. Alan ================ WHOIS Rec #3: Outreach >Has your subgroup identified any needed briefings/resources? No. >How will your subgroup review/analyze relevant documentation? (for >example, will you divide review between subgroup members) Each member will review all of the documents (largely web-based) and will independently review for consistency and completeness. The Subgroup will then meet to integrate findings. >How will you conduct investigation of identified objectives?(for >example, will you need calls or conduct work via email) We will need one or more calls once independent work is done. >How will you conduct relevant interviews (as appropriate)? Not needed at this point. >How will your subgroup produce its summary of key findings? As above, will meet (teleconference) to attempt to unify findings. Based on those, we will decide whether any additional recommendations are required. Results of analysis and possible further recommendations will be compiled by one subgroup member and reviewed by the others prior to the April meeting in Brussels. ================ Safeguard Registrant Data >Has your subgroup identified any needed briefings/resources? No. >How will your subgroup review/analyze relevant documentation? (for >example, will you divide review between subgroup members) Rapporteur will draft a strawman response to be reviewed and modified by team members. >How will you conduct investigation of identified objectives?(for >example, will you need calls or conduct work via email) This is a relatively easy task prior to GDPR. Post-initiial GDPR, we can predict that the answers will be different, but it is less clear if the response will be measurably more complex. Both e-mail and teleconferences will be used. >How will you conduct relevant interviews (as appropriate)? Not needed at this point. >How will your subgroup produce its summary of key findings? Noted above.

Action item: Outreach subgroup to discuss who the targets for outreach are and how well was each target's needs met. As a reminder, subgroups must now begin the work plan execution phase i.e. conduct analysis with the objective of producing findings by 22 February. Findings will lead to a set of draft recommendations and a subgroup report (see template here[community.icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__community.icann.org_do…>) that will discussed at the Brussels face-to-face meeting (16-17-18 April). Here are the answers for my Sub-Group. Carlton =========================================== WHOIS Rec # 2 : Single WHOIS Policy Has your subgroup identified any needed briefings/resources? *NO. * How will your subgroup review/analyze relevant documentation? (for example, will you divide review between subgroup members) *Each member will review the recommendation, the implementation record and statements from senior ICANN officers and make a determination as to whether the recommendation was fully implemented and if not, where are the gaps. * How will you conduct investigation of identified objectives?(for example, will you need calls or conduct work via email) *Work will be conducted via email but we will be open to a request from any team member to use alternate means, including a call. * How will you conduct relevant interviews (as appropriate)? *We are not anticipating any at the minute.* How will your subgroup produce its summary of key findings? *Rapporteur will collate the findings of each member in a single document and present it for advice and consent to the other members of the team before the f2f at Brussels.*

Plenary call #17: review needed on Terms of Reference; Subgroups Update.

Dear Review Team members, On today’s plenary call, review team members in attendance discussed and agreed to the addition brought to the Terms of Reference as suggested below by Alan: “In recognition that the WHOIS landscape will be changing, perhaps radically, over the coming months as ICANN addresses how it will respond to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the RT may choose to defer some or all of its work in relation to the scope items on Law Enforcement Needs, Consumer Trust and Safeguarding Registrant Data until it is more clear what path ICANN will be following. Should any work be deferred, individual timelines may slip. However, it is the intent of the RT that the overall schedule calling for the final report to be delivered by the end of December 2018 not change appreciably.” See attached for more information. Review team members in attendance also ratified the leadership decision to notify the ccNSO Council that no specific skills, and thus no ccNSO members, are needed on the Review Team. Action item: Cathrin, Chris, Erika, Lili, Thomas, Volker to review and send edits/comments on the above. In absence of objections/concerns raised by 7 Feb EOD, the proposals will be considered as accepted. Subgroups update Action item: Rapporteurs must be prepared to present on plenary call #18 (5 February 2018) how their subgroup is going to tackle their work. Dear Review Team members, Thank you for attending plenary call #18<https://community.icann.org/display/WHO/Meeting+%2318+-+5+February+2018>. Please read the below and complete the identified action items prior to the next plenary call (Friday 9 February at 13:30 UTC). Per the Review Team work plan<https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/64084086/RDS-WHOIS2%20Work…>, subgroups should have a final work plan and statement by now. Subgroups must now begin the work plan execution phase i.e. conduct analysis with the objective of producing findings by 22 February. Findings will lead to a set of draft recommendations and a subgroup report (see template here<https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/71604702/Proposed%20Subgro…>) that will discussed at the Brussels face-to-face meeting (16-17-18 April). Subgroups Work Plan As indicated on yesterday’s call, subgroups must move quickly into next steps to ensure Brussels is a fruitful meeting. With the objective of confirming subgroups’ respective work plans, rapporteurs have an action item to provide answers (via RT mailing-list) to the following questions, prior to the 9 February plenary call: * Has your subgroup identified any needed briefings/resources? * How will your subgroup review/analyze relevant documentation? (for example, will you divide review between subgroup members) * How will you conduct investigation of identified objectives? (for example, will you need calls or conduct work via email) * How will you conduct relevant interviews (as appropriate)? * How will your subgroup produce its summary of key findings? With respect to question 1, please direct any briefing requests you may have to your support team. As a reminder, in the event your subgroup needs a discussion with Subject Matter Experts, questions must be sent in advance of the call (e.g. similar to what the Compliance subgroup in preparation for their 1 February meeting with ICANN organization’s compliance management). Additionally, if you believe your subgroup may need external resources to conduct a study, this must be flagged as soon as possible. Membership review Rapporteurs are asked to identify by 9 February whether additional subgroup members are needed on their team. There is call for additional volunteers on WHOIS1 implementation – Rec 5-9 – data accuracy. ToR & ccNSO As a reminder 7 February – end of day – is your deadline to raise any concerns/objectives on edits to Terms of Reference and ccNSO related decision.
