Dear CGP/JGP/KGP colleagues, Thanks to all colleagues' hard work, preparation for CJK coordination meeting is making a steady progress. Colleagues in IP have also been supporting our progress. I will make a detailed progress report of ToDo's, which will be sent to you in a separate mail in a couple of hours from now. As to the agenda, I have rearranged the agenda as pasted below by considering the recent development of the preparation. The primary changes are the followings: - two "QnA with IP" sessions are newly added on both days because it has become obvious that we still need to communicate with IP regarding the details of RootLGR development process and IP's intention - "sharing each GP's status and concerns" session is removed and we will go directly into detailed discussion using LGR-1's because all three GPs have been making a good progress on their respective LGR-1 Please feel free to make comments on the revised agenda. I hope your comments will be sent to me by 6pm on Monday KST. This is because I want to ask IP to prepare for their remote participation after fixing the time slot of the session for them to participate in. Dear CGP and KGP members, Please find attched the latest Japanese LGR-1 (in XML format). For your convenience, summary of the table is: - Repertoire of Japanses LGR-1 consists from Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. No alphabets are included. - No variants are defined. Each code point has no variant. - Disposition of each code point is "allocatable". - WLE is minimal (may be considered as common part of every LGRs). Dear colleagues in CGP, KGP, JGP, Considering the responses so far, let me propose that representatives from CGP, KGP and JGP will meet in Seoul from PM on Friday 15/May to 15:00 on Saturday 16/May. So far, as far as I remember, the following folks responded affirmatively in attending the CJK meeting in Seoul from PM on Friday 15/May to 15:00 on Saturday 16/May. And some expressed their intention to join remotely. CGP Wang Wei Chris Dillon KGP KIM Kyongsok JGP Hiro Hotta Yoshiro Yoneya Yuri Takamatsu We need to fix the dates/venue pretty soon, because the dates are just one month away. May I propose that if no big issue on dates/venue is raised by Friday 17/April, we fix the dates/venue ? Meanwhile, please share who from CGP and who from KGP will attend. JGP will send the above 3 folks. In addition, may I ask Prof. KIM to secure a meeting room with Internet facility i Seoul? Dear All After the discussion in today‘s CGP meeting, Prof. ZHANG and Mr. QI Chao has produced a Minimum Shared Set (MSS) for C, J and K. The MSS is consisted of the following code point subset: A: IICore Base (9810, all fall in MSR) B: Historically Registered Hanzi under .CN/TW/HK (7000/5292/4191, all fall in MSR) C: PRC National Normalized Hanzi along with their traditional variants (8105/3489, some out of MSR) MSS=A+B+C-D-E D: code points in C, but not in MSR E: Stroke or Radicals (31) LIDU?(5) Out of BMP(62) finally, we got 12531 valid code points aggregate a Minimum Shared Set, based on which C, J and K could define their own variants, or adopt others variants. After all three GPs finish the variants generation and coordinaiton on MSS, each GP still has the chance to add independent code points (with no variants) into MSS seperately, to from its own final repertoire. Dear All After the discussion in today‘s CGP meeting, Prof. ZHANG and Mr. QI Chao has produced a Minimum Shared Set (MSS) for C, J and K. The MSS is consisted of the following code point subset: A: IICore Base (9810, all fall in MSR) B: Historically Registered Hanzi under .CN/TW/HK (7000/5292/4191, all fall in MSR) C: PRC National Normalized Hanzi along with their traditional variants (8105/3489, some out of MSR) MSS=A+B+C-D-E D: code points in C, but not in MSR E: Stroke or Radicals (31) LIDU?(5) Out of BMP(62) finally, we got 12531 valid code points aggregate a Minimum Shared Set, based on which C, J and K could define their own variants, or adopt others variants. After all three GPs finish the variants generation and coordinaiton on MSS, each GP still has the chance to add independent code points (with no variants) into MSS seperately, to from its own final repertoire. STEP1: MSS generated and accepted by three GPs, a mininum code points set shared by all of us. STEP2: variants generated and coordinated based on MSS STEP3: Add each GP's own independent and unrelated code points, form the final formal repertoire.
