GNSO Support Staff to submit the SSC leadership team for 2025 (Karen Day as Chair, Segunfunmi Olajide for Vice-Chair – both serving second terms) to the GNSO Council for its confirmation at the January Council Meeting (09 January). 2. GNSO Support Staff to send a doodle poll for 22 January (90-minute meeting for Fellowship Mentor and Selection Committee Member selection processes) and 27 January (TBC, if necessary, for Latin Script Diacritics PDP WG Chair selection process). 3. GNSO Support Staff to circulate/open a poll for SSC members on 10 January to complete on Fellowship Mentor and Selection Committee Member selection processes. [Notes] 1. Welcome & Introductions * The GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) is tasked, as requested by the GNSO Council, to 1) where applicable, prepare and issue calls for applications related to the selection or nomination of candidates for ICANN structures such as ICANN review teams, 2) review and evaluate all relevant applicants/candidates, 3) rank candidates and make selection/appointment recommendations for review and approval by Council, and 4) communicate selections to all interested parties. * Introduction by each member for 2025 SSC: https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=64077781 1. 2025 Chair and Vice-Chair Nominations * The membership<https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=64077781> of the SSC is reconfirmed annually. Dear SSC members, Per the deadline the Consensus Call is now closed. No objections were received. The SSC has reached agreement by Full Consensus to recommend Sebastien Ducos as the candidate selected for GNSO Council Liaison to the GAC, subject to the GNSO Council’s confirmation. Note that the SSC further agreed that if Sebastien Ducos was unable to serve, Sophie Hey would be considered as an alternate candidate, if deemed appropriate by the GNSO Council as well as the candidate. A motion will be accordingly submitted to Council for confirmation at the 08 August meeting. As a follow-up to the SSC call on Monday, 15 July 2024 at 1800 UTC, the SSC has reached preliminary agreement to recommend Sebastien Ducos as the candidate selected for GNSO Council Liaison to the GAC, subject to the GNSO Council’s confirmation.
