Evan and all, I totally don't agree that the term "Registrant" confuses either user or registrant, nor do any of our INEGroup members. Remember all registrants ARE also users. But I do agree with Evan that the ALAC should be primarly for users, but should not restrict input to only users that are not registrants as well. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Frederic Teboul, the new At-Large Regional Affairs Manager. Born in Marseille, France, he began his career in the French Foreign Service in Israel in 1997; he subsequently worked for several parts of the United Nations' system from 2000 to 2005 in the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Geneva, Kosovo, New York and Athens. He comes to us most recently from the private sector, where he served as Business Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director for the third-largest Greek maritime operator. Proposal for North American Indigenous TLD

A proposal has been fielded for a new gTLD for the North American Indigenous community (.nai) -- details at http://wampum.wabanaki.net/vault/2008/04/004460.html This appears to be an effort spearheaded by Eric Brunner-Williams who earlier in DNSO Working Group C proposed the TLD .naa (a gTLD scoped to North America and the territories, trusts and treaty dependencies of the United States and Canada, and delegated to the designates of the National Congress of American Indians/Assembly of First Nations) -- see http://www.dnso.org/dnso/notes/19991023.NCwgc-report.html It looks like Eric is currently affiliated with CORE, (and he has had prior experience with the gTLD submission process via the SWITCH .org proposal). Some in the NARALO may wish to assist in this effort. ARIN Participation at the Nonprofit Technology Conference

I saw that someone mentioned the Nonprofit Technology Conference on this list a few weeks back. I wanted to write back to give a brief description of ARIN's participation in the event. ARIN participated in the "Science Fair" which was the NTC exhibition event. We spoke to many people one-on-one about IPv4 depletion and the need to consider IPv6 adoption. On Friday, we held a 90-minute conference session to discuss details about IPv4, IPv6, the Regional Internet Registry System, and other educational topics. We encouraged everyone we spoke to, to participate in the ARIN policy development process as well as other processes and activities. Attendees' technical knowledge ranged from minimal to extensive, but we found everyone extremely interested in learning more about the issues facing the Internet community. We distributed hundreds of fact sheets, multimedia CDs, and comic books to people who planned to read the materials themselves or pass along to the more technical staff members not present at the event. This was a very useful and valuable conference to attend. We gained a wealth of information regarding the various ways that nonprofit organizations are using "Internet Technology" in their communities.
