ICANN able to convert Adobe Connect recordings to MP4 format

Dear All, The At-Large Technology Taskforce (TTF) maintains an At-Large Technology Issues page at https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+Technology+Issues which seeks to better document the technology issues experienced by the At-Large Community which we can raise with ICANN staff and document possible workarounds or solutions. On the TTF call on April 18 2016, feedback was given to ICANN staff regarding the issue of "the ability to export Adobe Connect recordings from Flash only recordings to formats like MP4 which can be edited and put on video sharing websites for easier resharing and more accessible for the At-Large community" This issue is important because Adobe Connect recordings in Flash are unplayable on mobile and tablet devices whereas MP4 files can be playable on mobile, tablet and PCs. Also, playing an Adobe Connect recording on a PC with Flash installed is cumbersome compared with experiences on video sharing websites like YouTube. Based on the suggestions given by the TTF on the April 18 2016 call (https://community.icann.org/x/UTmAAw) ICANN has configured their Adobe Connect account to allow for ICANN staff (at no additional cost) to export Adobe Connect recordings to MP4 format. At-Large Staff are currently testing the process to convert Adobe Connect recordings to MP4 and to upload to Youtube. Efectivamente, se trató de una reunión muy buena, esclarecedora de los temas de Ciberseguridad, sin dejar de lado los relativos a Gobernanza. Tuve el placer de seguirla de forma remota y por la social media, en lo personal me llamó la atención el reclamo hacia los gobiernos y algunos Estados en la definición de políticas públicas sobre el particular, la interesante y a la vez contrastante posición de los casos Colombia y Brasil. Dear All, On behalf of Judith Hellerstein, At-Large Captioning Pilot Project group lead and NARALO's Secretary, this is a reminder to submit your request for captioning facilities for calls to be held in April 2016. The implementation of this project will be structured as follows: * Three calls to include captioning each month for a total of 9 teleconferences, not exceeding 60 minutes per call (with the exception of the ALAC Monthly Meeting) * The calls shall be held between January - first week June 2016. * During the first pilot phase of this captioning project the language used will be English. * In order to select the calls the captioning team has developed a set of criteria to evaluate and rate the requests. The request for captioning must meet at least one of these criteria to be put on the list. Criteria for Captioning: 1) Are there persons with disabilities or with limited bandwidth participating? 2) Are there webinars of general interest to the ICANN community that would increase the engagement of non-native English speakers? 3) Are the meetings or discussions about accessible tools or software? If you would like to have a teleconference captioned during this pilot phase please submit your request to At-Large Staff<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org>> by March 30th . * The At-Large Captioning Pilot Project group, in collaboration with At-Large Staff, will select the calls that will have captioning based on the criteria noted above. * A short poll will be made at the end of each call where captioning is used to ask for feedback on the captioning program during that call.
