Dear SSC members, Per our call today, please find the google spreadsheet that contains the votes during the call and ranking that follows: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P9XZ3hd0J6GfaOpStV92zSpWDkqXwl7rmat… Some points to note from the spreadsheet ranking: * The order of names (No. in A column) is in the order of ranking from today’s call. * The Top 9 (until Ranking 7) have 3 votes, and the Top 13 (until Ranking 10) have 2 votes. (I could not cut the Top 10 and/or the Top 12 due to the identical number of votes) * The column J in red shows the poll results to compare to: In ranking 7’s, Marie Pattullo overlaps with the Poll result; In ranking 10’s there are no overlapping candidates. * Mark Datysgeld that ranked 3rd in the Poll Result is excluded in the call ranking today based on the discussions (i.e., previous SSC appointee) Other than the spreadsheet with rankings to help the members with the decision, kindly find the attached survey results, that were also shared in the meeting, for your reference. Re: Suggested List of Candidates (with Notes) | SSC - Pilot Holistic Review candidates evaluation call | Monday, 01 July 2024
by Saewon Lee July 1, 2024

July 1, 2024
Dear SSC members, Please note the updates in the Poll results again – as mentioned during the call, the graph bars were quickly ranked for your general overview, but due to their inaccuracy, when double-checking with the individual candidate results, we must have missed two more candidates that ranked at 6th place with James and Mark, Hector Ariel Manoff and Sophie Hey, all four with 12 points. The only distinction is that while Hector Ariel Manoff had the exact same results as James and Mark (4 yes, 1 no, and 1 don’t know), Sophie Hey only had 3 yeses, with 2 don’t knows. With this, I have updated the bar graph ranking again (with top 9 candidates) as well as the google sheet and below notes (highlighted in yellow) to reflect this change. Sincere apologies for not catching this before. Kind regards, Julie and Saewon. GNSO Support Staff to send Survey Monkey as a tool for the candidate poll by 25 June 3. GNSO Support staff to send a reminder related to the GAC liaison selection process [Notes] 1. Welcome & SOIs 2. Pilot Holistic Review (PHR) Selection Process – see wiki at: https://community.icann.org/display/GSSC/Pilot+Holistic+Review+-+2024 - From the Bylaw Section 4.6: Each Supporting Organization and Advisory Committee participating in the applicable review may nominate up to seven prospective members for the review team. - Currently there are 19 candidates and now the Committee needs to select 7 - Just observationally, the members were impressed to see highest participation from Africa and lowest from North America - this is ‘upside down’ from typical - PHR Review is not run by the GNSO Support Team, whereas the GAC liaison selection process is. - 1 July: SSC will make its determination of nominees – 3 day consensus call (~3 July) - Upon Full Consensus, by 8 July, the SSC will submit its recommendation to the GNSO Council in the form of a motion. - However, SSC can have another meeting on 8 July if additional time is needed: the names of candidates can be submitted by 18 July. 1. Questions during meeting: 1. Request for a google spreadsheet with the criteria of candidates, if not already? • Jothan has volunteered to create one for the Team if possible. 2. Karen Day shared with the members a criteria used to assess each candidate: 1 - Performance assessment and audits of organizational effectiveness and governance 2 - Development of methodologies and guidelines for process improvement and measurement 3 - Data analysis informing fact-based findings and recommendations 4 - Familiarity with ICANN Reviews and ICANN structures 5 - Knowledge of recognized frameworks for organizational excellence 1. - Principles of accountability applicable to organizations broadly similar to ICANN 3.
