Dear All, Steve Sheng, ICANN Senior Technical Analyst within the Policy Department, will talk about the currently open public consultation on the Interim Report of the Internationalized Registration Data Working Group<http://icann.org/en/public-comment/#ird> in an At-Large community briefing call. In June 2009 the ICANN Board approved a resolution (2009.06.26.18: <http://www.icann.org/en/minutes/resolutions-26jun09.htm#6>) requesting that the GNSO and the SSAC, in consultation with staff, convene an Internationalized Registration Data Working Group (IRD-WG) comprised of individuals with knowledge, expertise, and experience in these areas to study the feasibility and suitability of introducing display specifications to deal with the internationalization of registration data. The working group has produced an interim report that discusses several potential models for internationalizing domain registration data, and is seeking feedback from the community about the models and on other key questions via a public consultation that is open until 14 March 2011. During this call, participants will be able to engage in a discussion of the Interim Report of the Internationalized Registration Data Working Group with Steve and At-Large representatives on the IRD-WG. Call for At-Large Project Submissions to include in ICANN's Fiscal Year 2013 Operational Plan and Budget

Dear All, ICANN is developing an Operational Plan and Budget for Fiscal Year 2013 to accomplish the goals and priorities of ICANN's Strategic Plan for 2012-2015 (draft version at http://www.icann.org/en/strategic-plan/draft-strategic-plan-2012-2015-clean- 03oct11-en.pdf ). In preparation for this, ICANN's Finance Team has asked the ALAC to submit project requests to be budgeted in ICANN's Draft Operational Plan and Budget for Fiscal Year 2013 by 20 January 2012, giving consideration to the number of requests and to the priority of the requests. In turn, ALAC's Finance and Budget Sub-Committee (FBSC; https://community.icann.org/x/n4XT ) has requested that RALOs submit their FY13 project requests for consideration by the committee by 10 January 2012. The Sub-committee would appreciate that each RALO indicate its top three projects, should more than three be submitted. As requested by ICANN's Finance Team, all FY13 project suggestions must use a template which can be found on the At-Large Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Development Workspace at https://community.icann.org/x/yofbAQ . The form asks RALOs to describe in detail the actual scope of the activity being proposed, how it relates to the current Strategic Plan, and how the funds are to be implemented. RALOs may wish to review last year's ALAC's FY12 Budget proposals at https://community.icann.org/x/IASB. ALAC's FBSC will be reviewing the RALO submissions in an attempt to prioritize requests for submission to ICANN Finance in time by 20 January 2012. It is important to note that ONLY projects showing positive impact to ICANN's Strategic Plan 2012-2015 or to ICANN Policy Development will likely be approved. Also, please note that all project submissions sent by the ALAC will be included in ICANN's 2013 Draft Operational Plan and Budget and published for public comment. We are starting to get good general response from community members but ask that you to send out a reminder and encourage all members of your community to review and complete the survey document. Thus far, nearly 350 community members have viewed the survey, but only about 10% of those viewers have followed through and completed the document. Most constituencies / stakeholder groups have furnished at least one response, but some have not our goal is to see broad participation from all constituencies and stakeholder groups. I think that this is a valuable opportunity to comment for all stakeholders. Even if the form or content might not suit some of the initial readers, all should participate. We seek to improve ICANN and, importantly, we also seek to demonstrate the vibrancy of the bottom-up policy making community by strong participation in this survey. Please remind members of your community that the survey link at http://ICANN-SS-2011.questionpro.com/ will remain open through 3 January 2012. Personal encouragement you can offer to increase survey completion would be most appreciated. To reiterate just a bit, the survey is designed to create an initial baseline of general ICANN stakeholder satisfaction that we can then use to compare against future results.
