This award program seeks to recognize long-standing community members who have served in leadership roles in multiple ICANN working groups or committees and demonstrated collaboration with different supporting organizations and/or advisory committees. The Multistakeholder Ethos Award will recognize ICANN participants who have deeply invested in consensus-based solutions, recognized the importance of ICANN's multistakeholder model of Internet governance, and contributed in a substantive way to the higher interests of ICANN's organization and its community. The nomination period for community nominees opens today, 21 April 2014 and closes on 17 May 2014. Community members interested in submitting a nomination are invited to send an email to ethosaward2014(a)icann.org<mailto:ethosaward2014@icann.org> including: * Name of nominee. * Community of nominee. * Reasons for nomination. Please note that the reasons outlining the candidate's merit for the nomination may be as brief or as long as required. Candidates for this inaugural step of the program development will demonstrate at least five years of participation in the ICANN Community. Both individuals and organizations are eligible for the award. A panel of community members is being gathered to help review all community nominations and determine the best candidates for the first awards. The decisions of the panel will be made based on the following criteria: 1. Demonstrated multistakeholder volunteer service via working groups or committees. 2. Demonstrated spirit of collaboration through engagement with other community members with the aim of consensus building. 3. Demonstrated facilitator of dialogue and open discussion in a fair, cordial and collegial manner. 4. Demonstrated additional devotional factors exhibited by time spent supporting ICANN's multistakeholder model and its overall effectiveness. During the 1-day I* leaders meeting, the group considered a range of issues where dialogue among Internet technical organizations is useful. In particular, the group highlighted that the NETmundial meeting has energized the multistakeholder discussions and model in a positive fashion. The leaders highlighted the importance of open, collaborative, bottom-up processes across meetings and organisations dealing with the Internet. During the meeting, the group reflected on a number of other topics as well: 1. Transition of NTIA's Stewardship of the IANA Functions (http://www.icann.org/en/about/agreements/iana/transition) and review of ICANN accountability processes; 2. The announcement made by ICANN CEO of the launch of a process to review and improve ICANN's own oversight/accountability mechanism and how it is complementary to the IANA function's stewardship evolution process. 3. Upcoming Internet Governance meetings including the Internet Governance Forum (http://www.intgovforum.org) and the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (http://www.internetsociety.org/plenipotbackground) 4. Coordination of experiences, plans and resources to further deploy DNSSEC via the ccTLD community 5. CALL FOR MEMBERSHIP : Interim At-Large Curation Working Group- Deadline 16 May

Dear All, Olivier Crépin-Leblond, Chair of the ALAC, has requested a call for membership of the interim At-Large Curation Working Group. The At-Large Curation Working Group aims to raise awareness of the ICANN At-Large community and enhance end-users' engagement with the community by developing a strong and sustainable presence on social media. The At-Large Curation WG, in close coordination with At-Large Staff, is mainly tasked with implementing the Overall Social Media Strategy for At-Large (https://community.icann.org/x/lBcQAg) Since the WG won't be officially established until the ALAC addresses the issue during its Monthly call at the end of May, an interim At-Large Curation WG will be formed and functioning during the month of May, implementing the Overall Social Media Strategy. Dev Anand Teeluckingh has accepted Olivier Crépin-Leblond's request for him to take on the position of Interim Chair. Some of the tasks for the At-Large Curation WG include: * Create templates for 'fluid content' (e.g. messages from ALAC-Announce mailing list); * Plan and draft required quantity of 'static content' during each work period (e.g. background information about the people and work of the community); * Provide live coverage of ICANN meetings and events on social media; * Facilitate cross-community interactions via social media; * Monitor and analyze social media Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis; * Assess additional digital channels for potential expansion; * Develop best practice and organization knowledge in social media management. At-Large Curation WG members should have some knowledge and experience in social media communications.
