As usual, we will have a Public Forum that will take place on Thursday, 18 October 2012, where Community members can make comments and ask questions to the Board and/or to the rest of the Community. Following the practice we had in the recent meetings, we would like to build the agenda with your input again as this facilitates the forum process and results in a productive session with the subjects that the Community thinks are important to talk about. Publishing the agenda as early as possible also facilitates more informed discussions during the Public Forum as we have experienced in recent meetings, allowing the Community ample time to be aware of the agenda topics before the meeting actually starts. Please let Filiz Yilmaz (filiz.yilmaz(a)*.org) know of one or two suggested topics that your groups would like to see included in the Public Forum agenda in Toronto, before the end of Monday, 1 October 2012. We will then review the suggestions, accommodate them as much as possible, combine common or related topics under one agenda topic and publish the agenda for the Public Forum after my approval. Dear All, According to Rule 2.1 of the ALAC Internal Rules of Procedure <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/27854147/AL-2007-1-1-Rev11…> the ALAC will elect a Chair, at least two (2) Vice-Chairs and a Rapporteur. Rule. 2.2 states that all officers are normally elected at an Annual General Meeting of ICANN. Rule 9.1 states that the election call will be sent by the current ALAC Chair. In keeping with these rules, this message serves as the election call for the ALAC Officers to serve as members of the ALAC Executive Committee from 22 October 2012 to the ICANN Annual General Meeting 2013. Dear All, In the ALAC vote to appoint At-Large Delegates to the 2013 NomCom, the results for the Delegate from the Latin American and Caribbean Islands Region are: For the first preference candidate: • 6 votes were cast for Jacqueline Morris • 6 votes were cast for Vanda Scartezini • There was one abstention. For the second preference candidate: • 1 vote was cast for Jacqueline Morris • 3 votes were cast for Vanda Scartezini As such, for the first preference candidate, an exact tie occurred and no immediate preferential candidate was selected. For the secondary preference candidate, Vanda Scartezini is declared the winner given that she received a higher number of votes.
