Results of three recently concluded ALAC ratification votes

Dear All, The At-Large staff has the honor of transmitting to you, on behalf of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the results of three recently concluded ALAC ratification votes. We request that these results be forwarded to the members of the ICANN Board. The results of these ALAC ratification votes are listed below. 1) ALAC ratification vote on: ALAC Statement to the ICANN Board on the RAA Negotiations – transmitted to the Board on 9 May 2011 Results of ratification vote (closed 18 May 2011): This Statement was endorsed by the ALAC (with 12 votes in favor, 0 votes against, and 1 vote abstaining; 2 ALAC members did not vote). 2) ALAC ratification vote on: Second Milestone Report of the Joint SO/AC New gTLD Applicant Support Working Group (JAS WG) with a revised ALAC introduction – transmitted to the Board on 13 May 2011 Results of ratification vote (closed 18 May 2011): This JAS WG Report was endorsed by the ALAC (with 10 votes in favor, 0 votes against, and 1 vote abstaining; 4 ALAC members did not vote). 3) ALAC ratification vote on (closed 18 May 2011): ALAC Statement on the Joint Applicant Support Second Milestone Report – transmitted to the Board on 13 May 2011 Results of ratification vote (closed 18 May 2011): This Statement was endorsed by the ALAC (with 11 votes in favor, 0 votes against, and 0 votes abstaining; 4 ALAC members did not vote). The ALAC would appreciate the Board’s taking the results of these ratification votes into consideration during its deliberations on these topics. Thank you. Whether you plan to participate in the upcoming ICANN meeting in Singapore remotely or in person, you're invited to a quickreminder of the background and current status of each major policy issue currently under discussion in ICANN. The ICANN Policy Staff will provide a briefing on Wednesday 8 June at 19.00 UTC and Thursday 9 June at 12.00 UTC, summarizing policy issues across the different ICANN Supporting Organizations, namely the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) andAddress Supporting Organization (ASO). Amongst other topics, updates will be provided on: - - Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy Issue Report (GNSO) - - Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy Part B (GNSO) - - Post-Expiration Domain Name Recovery (GNSO) - - Recent WHOIS work - - Study Group on Use of Names for Countries and Territories (ccNSO) - - Framework of Interpretation Working Group for the delegation and re delegation of ccTLDs (ccNSO) - - Joint DNS Security and Stability Analysis Working Group - - Global policy for handling recovered IPv4 address space (ASO) The two sessions are duplicates, scheduled to accommodate different time zones. Each session, scheduled to run for 90 minutes, will be conducted in English only. The meeting will be run in Adobe Connect with a slide presentation along with a dial-in conference bridge for audio. Participants will have opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session. During the course of the webinar, questions may be submitted using the chat function of Adobe Connect. If you are not able to participate in either of the live sessions, the recording of the session will be made available shortly after the meeting. Dear all, further to the ALAC monthly conference call in which this was discussed, please find a formal vote of thanks to Staff for the Confluence Wiki Guide which you can find on: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At+Large+Wiki+Training+Guides This vote of thanks will be transmitted to the relevant staff and to the Board Secretary. * *--- cut here --- * Formal vote of thanks to Staff for* *Confluence Wiki Guide* The At-Large Advisory Committee would like to thank ICANN Staff for the hard work it has undertaken in writing the Confluence Wiki Guide and having it translated in the 6 official UN languages. Understanding Web 2.0 resources offered by ICANN At-Large is an important part of the ALAC's policy to enable at-Large Structures to involve themselves more effectively in the grass roots-based, bottom-up consensus process leading to ALAC actions. The multi-language guide is therefore very valuable as a primer to getting involved in At-Large policy and the credit for making it so clear and useful goes to the ICANN Staff members who produced it under such tight deadlines.
