Dear All, As per today’s ALAC Teleconference, the ALAC would like to seek your input on the Public Comment on the gTLD Marketplace Health Index (Beta): Call for Comments. It would be great if someone from the At-Large New gTLDs Working Group and/or Registration Issues Working Group to volunteer to review this public comment and draft a Statement on behalf of the ALAC, if it is needed. Proposed Amendments to Base New gTLD Registry Agreement Workspace

For those of you who do not "follow" all of our Wiki pages, please note the comment I made today on the Proposed Amendments to Base New gTLD Registry Agreement. When I and others first reviewed the amendments, we did not find much to comment on. In conversations during and after Helsinki (with both At-Large people and those from other parts of ICANN), it became more obvious (to me) that there are several issues that need to be raised - forcefully. The comment period officially ends this coming Wednesday, but I have asked for a week's extension. We should hear tomorrow whether this is granted. The registry agreement governs the core of one of ICANN's main areas of responsibility. Please look at the comments at https://community.icann.org/x/uBiOAw and circulate as appropriate. If there is no extension granted, we will have to act very quickly, so please let us know if you, in general or in detail, support the ALAC making such a comment. Dear All, On behalf of Alan Greenberg, Chair of the ALAC, the call for candidates for the RALO representatives in the ALAC Appointee Selection Committee is now open. Each RALO must select one (1) representative to the ALAC Appointee Selection Committee. The RALO representatives must not be the ALAC Leadership Team members (Alan Greenberg, Tijani Ben Jemaa, Leon Sanchez, Holly Raiche, and Sandra hoferichter). The names of the representatives must be sent to staff(a)atlarge.icann.org<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org> no later than 23:59 UTC on 14 July 2016. Those appointed to the Selection Committee must be prepared to review the Expression of Interest for the ALAC Liaison to the Customer Standing Committee (CSC) position between 15 July and 18 July and attend a 2-hour teleconference on 18 July to discuss the ALAC Liaison candidates. “For background, this Selection committee, composed of the ALAC Leadership Team (ALT) and five ALAC members and Chaired by Alan will receive and review Expressions of Interest for various ALAC appointments until the ends of the Hyderabad meeting. Thanks Evan..OK I get you. PICISOC has so many different interest groups.. but the ALS itself is grounded in At-Large. And yes, the expectation for reporting is from the organisation, not from ICANN. Attached please find both a marked-up and clean version of the approved Rules of Procedure. On the marked-up version, the changes made through the Addendum distributed prior to the meeting or during ALAC discussions (paragraphs 19.8, 19.11.3, 19.11.4 and 19.11.6 are in a different colour to those originally proposed. The proposed changes prior to Section 19 which were not discussed are, of course, not there. If you find any errors, please let us know as soon as possible. I did notice one omission during my final proof of the revised version. Although 19.11.6 discusses the use of a random selection in the event that there is insufficient time for a 2nd vote, it does not say that a random selection will be used if the 2nd vote again results in a tie. I will propose a change to cover this what I put forward the earlier changes we did not discuss in Helsinki. Alan

As discussed in Helsinki, we will be issuing a call for candidates for the CSC Liaison today or tomorrow. The qualifications are below. There are not many people in At-Large who will satisfy these requirements, and we will only have a few days to collect Expressions of Interest, so we will all have to be pro-active, reach out to prospective applicants and encourage them to apply. We are looking for people with knowledge of gTLD or ccTLD registries an/or specific understanding of the functions that IANA provides. The workload will not be heavy, but it will be very important to attend the monthly calls. Please start thinking about who we should encourage to apply. The deadline for application will be 14 July.
