CCWG-Accountability-WS2 - ADDITIONAL Extension of closing dates for public consultations

All, Given the low number of responses to all 4 of its public consultations and considering the upcoming end of year break the CCWG-Accountabilty WS2 it is extending the closing date for all of these public consultations to Sunday 14 January 2018 23:59 UTC. As such, the community, including all SOs and ACs, are encouraged to provide any substantial comments they may have on the recommendations in the individual reports during the public consultations on these individual reports. The CCWG-Accountability-WS2 would like to take this occasion to remind the community that these recommendations will affect all parts of the ICANN community directly and as such the community is strongly encouraged to take the time to consider these and comment during the public comment period. It is also important to note that although all comments are considered equally that it is just as important for the community to show support for those recommendations they agree with. All, Given the low number of responses to the Diversity and Ombudsman public consultations the CCWG-Accountability WS2 is extending the closing date of these public consultations to align with its two other public consultations on Jurisdiction and Staff Accountability so that all of these will now close on Friday January 5th 2018. All, The results of the e-mail consideration of the changes to the Good Faith recommendations is that we have not received any comments on the request below in the time allocated. As such the Co-Chairs consider that the Good Faith recommendations , as presented in this version , are accepted by the plenary and are now Final and will be included in the WS2 Final Report. Members are those individuals that are specifically appointed by the chartering SO/ACs to the CCWG-Accountability - the list of Members can be found at https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=59640780 . Rapporteurs are those listed as such on the CCWG-Accountability-WS2 Wiki for specific sub-groups located at https://community.icann. org/display/WEIA/WS2+SubGroup+Topics. Please see the attached policy for details regarding this funding. If you are not a Member or a Rapporteur, please do not apply as there is a very limited number of seats available. Those Members and Rapporteurs wishing to be considered for travel funding should fill out the attached form and submit it by Sunday 19 November 23:59 UTC to Acct-Staff(a)icann.org. The funding is for the Face- to- Face meeting, which can include airfare, hotel and a per-diem allocation for meals for attending the Face to Face meeting only (and not the full ICANN meeting). However, in analyzing the requests the Co-Chairs will consider requests for partial funding (such as only an additional day of hotel and per diem to attend the Face to Face meeting) in order to maximize participation. As such Members are encouraged to only apply for what they need to allow for funding as many Members and Rapporteurs as possible. The final decisions on travel funding will be made by the Co-Chairs and published on the CCWG-Accountability WS2 wiki at https://community.icann. org/display/WEIA/Travel+Support within 3 days of the application period closing (a confirmation of the posting will be sent to the CCWG email list). The public consultation was open from 7 March to 22 April 2017 and produced 5 generally supportive comments except for one comment with respect to the ASO. At the ICANN 59 meeting in June 2017 the rapporteur met with the ASO to discuss the situation with them and agreed to provide edits which would address their concerns. The updated version was provided to the ASO at the end of August 2017 and the CCWG-Accountability-WS2 received confirmation from the ASO at ICANN 60 that the updated version adequately addressed their concerns. Given the changes are not significant the Co-Chairs feel that the plenary can approve this updated version of the draft recommendations on the list. If approved by the plenary these draft recommendations will not be published for a second public comment period and will become final recommendations which will be included in the WS2 Final Report. As such please find attached a red-line version of the document which shows the changes from the version originally approved by the plenary in February 2017.
