RULE 5 - QUALIFICATION CRITERIA FOR LIAISONS 5.1 There is no requirement for a Liaison to be a member of the At-Large Advisory Committee;* 5.2 A conflict of interest statement must be filed; 5.3 A person may not serve two different liaison positions at the same time; 5.4 All liaisons can be removed before the end of their term by a vote of recall according to rule 11; 5.5 All liaisons have a duty of performing their roles with diligence and loyalty to the Committee, and are bound to meet the minimum participation requirements set forth in Rule 21. In case of failure to do so, the Chair shall call a vote of recall. The mission and responsibilities of each Liaison of the ALAC are: 5.6 To participate diligently in the meetings and activities of the body he/she is liaison to; 5.7 To communicate and advocate the positions of the ALAC to such body; 5.8 To report to the ALAC the current and upcoming activities of the body he/she is liaison to, as far as this is possible under the timing and confidentiality constraints of such *body;* 5.9 When this is possible under such constraints, ask to the ALAC for advance instructions on matters that are going to be discussed by such body. RULE 6 - PRIVILEGES OF LIAISONS 6.1 All liaisons have the same rights of access to information, mailing lists and documents *as the ordinary ALAC members.* *PLEASE NOTE:* With the exception of the ALAC ByLaw-mandated liaisons to the GNSO and the ccNSO, there is no assured travel finding for ALAC Liaisons to attend ICANN Meetings unless they are serving ALAC members. These positions will be that of both Sub-Committee liaison for their Region/RALO as well as a point of contact for the organization of future outreach activities. As the Outreach Sub-Committee will have a meeting in Toronto on Tuesday, 16 October between 17:00-18:00 in the Regatta Meeting Room (see details at: http://toronto45.icann.org/node/34361) and begin activities immediately following the Toronto Meeting, volunteers for the positions of Formal Representative are requested to indicate their interest by no later than Friday, 26 October 2012. Promoting a collaborative session involving ALAC and NPOC

Workshop on The Multi-stakeholder model from the NGO´s perspective [17 October 2012] During ICANN 45 that will take place in Toronto, Canada, 14-18 October 2012, ICANN constituency, Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns (NPOC) and the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) are collaborating in organizing a working session on the Multi stakeholder model from the NGO´s perspective. The Multi-Stakeholder Model (MSM) has been used worldwide for decades by many organizations like ICANN and various social and economical development programs to foster consensus between diverging interests in the public domain, the private sector and civil society. There is a wide body of applied knowledge on the MSM which merits wider dissemination and understanding. A panel of eminent specialists will share some of this knowledge and foster a discussion on how the MSM can be improved and the existing challenges both from a global and an ICANN perspective. Dear All, According to Rule 2.1 of the ALAC Internal Rules of Procedure https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/27854147/AL-2007-1-1-Rev11… the ALAC will elect a Chair, at least two (2) Vice-Chairs and a Rapporteur. Rule. 2.2 states that all officers are normally elected at an Annual General Meeting of ICANN. Rule 9.1 states that the election call will be sent by the current ALAC Chair. This stage having been undertaken, it is now time to discuss those nominations.
