Keith's proposal had been added to https://icann.wufoo.com/reports/icann65-proposed-topics Off the back of my earlier feedback through the CPWG mail list (which incidentally didn't get through this mail list) where I also thought it would be sensible to group certain topics together. I had: 1. WHOIS accuracy, GDPR, EPDP2, Unified Access Model 2. SSR2, ATRT3, NomCom Review Implementation 3. Effectiveness of Specific Review recommendations and implementation 4. UA 5. Privacy and Proxy Implementation (I chose to keep this separated from group 1 because of its in-limbo status) 6. DoH 7. Future of Multistakeholder Model of Governance And revising my list of priorities for HIT vs At-Large at Marrakech: - 7. Future of Multistakeholder Model of Governance --- both HIT & At-Large priority, coming off the recently published call for comments (for talking points) - 3. Effectiveness of Specific Review recommendations and implementation --- both HIT & At-Large priority, especially insofar as recourse for the CCTRT report is concerned - 4. UA -- HIT for considering approach to community / consensus policy (certainly At-Large talking points as a follow on from Kobe meeting) - 6. DoH -- At-Large priority for understanding & considering implications to end-users (if not HIT as well) IMO, groups 1 and 2 are at this point better suited as updates rather than for HIT sessions -- let the various WGs/EPDP/RTs carry on with their work. Same goes for the other GNSO topics which Keith raised where they don't already appear in the above list of 7. Hi all I finally found what I was looking for. This was Keith's consolidated approach proposed on April 30 for your consideration (to mnimise the number of HIT sessions in Marrakech) 1 Impact of GDPR and EPDP Phase 1 Recommendations on Existing Policies and Procedures. Combine 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 into one session 1.1 Combatting Abuse with GDPR 1.2 Privacy-Proxy Implementation 1.3 Across Field Validation 2 EPDP Phase 2 / Uniform Access Model REMOVE these two proposed sessions because EPDP Phase 2 work will only have been under way for 6 weeks by the time we arrive in Marrakech. It may be premature to schedule a HIT/CC session - possibly defer this to ICANN66 in Montreal 3 Sessions that are merely updates can be provided as a pre-meeting webinar. 3.1 ATRT3 3.2 SSR-2 3.3 NomCom Review 4 Future of Multistakeholder Model Governance Is necessary to complete the project kicked off in Kobe by the year's end. Clearly a topic of interest to the entire community. Actually I am very disappointed in how this issue has become a storm in a teacup and I have to wonder why certain members of AFRALO should be so defensive. As the ALAC Chair, as you all know, I cast an eye over as many activities of the RALOs and Working Groups within At-Large as I can and participate often in At-Large and RALO meetings when I can, as part of my role of ensuring that things are ticking over as they should - checking on organisational effectiveness and maintaining the brief of the At-Large Review Implementation. In hindsight I regret the timing in which I made my comment, but it was in relation to something I observed, and commented in what I felt was a lighthearted and non-threatening way. Considering the comments that have been made to the Chair of the ALAC, I wonder who should feel more insulted and disrespected. Thankfully, I took heart from the comment from Nkem Nweke - that the intent of my original comment was indeed recognised. Best of luck for your nominations and elections. Hi Mohamed Not meaning in any way to be directive during your elections, I was merely making a light-hearted observation on something which I wanted to note in light of your initial nominations. I am truly hoping that there will be some consideration across all our RALOs for an inclusive approach to regional leadership and in fact, to all aspects of the work we undertake within our RALOs, across At-Large and within ICANN. We should be encouraging of people to apply for these vacant positions during this election regardless of their backgrounds, gender, ethnicity or degree of disability. All I am interested in is their passion for getting in behind the At-Large banner and bringing their end-user voices and views to the policy debates we contribute to within ICANN. I don't think it is remarkable. It is expected. Hopefully the selection process will not fund those with a history of only appearing when travel funds are available. Over the last years when I was Chair, we had several travel slots per meeting allocated to people involved in or likely to be involved in policy work. That certainly didn't limit the applications to those who met the criteria. But those we selected did meet them. The selection committee (in those cases, me and the RALO Chairs) were pretty hard-nosed about it. I will judge the selection process by how well it excludes those with a history of not working between trips... Dear Raymond, that is correct - but some people who wanted to follow the Webinar track, mostly because they are not fluent in English, might have actually missed the first Webinars due to unforeseen circumstances. So there is always a chance to "save the application" by doing the ICANN Learn course that corresponds to the Webinar they have missed.
