Reimbursement amounts of up to USD 60 will be provided to eligible applicants who purchase additional Internet bandwidth (capacity or data limits) for the duration of the month or billing cycle for October 2020. The services must be rendered by a business entity or Internet service provider, specifically for Internet or cellular data service. The provider must also provide digital or paper documentation of the upgrade costs. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS To qualify for Internet service reimbursement: 1. Applicants must be active members of an ICANN community Supporting Organization or Advisory Committee and have been an ICANN funded traveler within 18 months prior to ICANN69 or must be selected to participate in the current ICANN69 Fellowship or the NextGen programs. 2. Applicants must be registered to attend, and participate in ICANN69. Participation will be validated by the support staff of the primary membership group of applicants. 3. The Board still values its dialogue with your groups and is very much looking forward to engaging with you during our 22nd and first ever virtual Annual General Meeting that will take place between 13-22 October 2020. As you keep working on the format for ICANN69, we would like to start preparing for community dialogue with the Board. As per what we did in Montréal and virtually for ICANN67, instead of sending up to three questions to the Board, we would like to offer you the alternative option of choosing a single topic and having an open discussion with the Board on that topic. Per the ICANN Bylaws <https://newsalerts.icann.org/z0282dP0000RNc32CgF0E00>, Article 18, Section 18.5.d.(a): "*The IFRT may recommend, among other things to the extent reasonably related to the IFR responsibilities set forth in Section 18.3, amendments to the IANA Naming Function Contract, IANA Naming Function SOW and/or the CSC Charter. The IFRT shall, at a minimum, take the following steps before an amendment to either the IANA Naming Function Contract, IANA Naming Function SOW or CSC Charter is proposed:……(iii) Conduct a public input session for ccTLD and gTLD registry operators.*" The IFRT noted that the IANA Naming Functions Contract <https://newsalerts.icann.org/E0d0C0gERb80N02E2300P02> contains a requirement relating to the formatting of IANA's monthly Root Operations Audit Reports <https://newsalerts.icann.org/v0080N3d0dPECgG2R022000> and this requirement can be considered obsolete. Maureen, please do not say things like "But what replaces our more accustomed reward for effort - of attending an ICANN meeting in some exotic place around the world?"!! I am sure that for some, it is quite true that they volunteer for the travel rewards, but it is NOT the case for many, and it reflects SO BADLY on us. I have been to MANY exotic places on ICANN's dime. only rarely have I taken the time to experience them. And I have been to MANY places that I had no interest in visiting. If every ICANN meeting were held at a Los Angeles airport hotel, my attendance would not be different, and I suspect that is the same for you. So let's not encourage the concept that we consider travel a reward.
