Dear All, According to Rule 2.1 of the ALAC Internal Rules of Procedure <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/27854147/AL-2007-1-1-Rev11… <https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/27854147/AL-2007-1-1-Rev11…>>, the ALAC will elect a Chair, at least two (2) Vice-Chairs and a Rapporteur. Rule. 2.2 states that all officers are normally elected at an Annual General Meeting of ICANN. Rule 9.1 states that the election call will be sent by the current ALAC Chair. This stage having been undertaken, it is now time to discuss those nominations. Identity theft in domain registrations?

Here is quite an educational post by the victim to identity theft in domain registrations: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1091318 My own digging found that the victims details are also being used at Bizcn for Zeus botnet domains: http://www.malwaredomainlist.com/forums/index.php?topic=3618.660 ( sfs8968f6h8sf6hs80xx.com ) http://page2rss.com/97223a4d81e892c31c529d53b3dbf1f5/5591214_5591504 (jawproot.com) The identity theft issue came up a year or so ago, but was not considered a real risk. However here we see all the checks and balances being non-existent. There should be a set procedure to easily address such an issue and not traumatize the victim any further. Thank You Evan and JJS, I'd be delighted to Accept this Nomination for a second term, but would like to explore a proper and effective succession plan over the next 12 month term as well ... We could briefly discuss this in Dakar but it would be wrapped up with other review and changes 'towards best practice' for the ALAC RoP's also due to happen over the next 12 months or so...
