The European Commission has endorsed the Article 29 Working Party's opinion and has certified Uruguay for compliance with the EU's requirements for data privacy protection. Uruguay joins Andorra, Argentina, the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documentation Act, Faeroe Islands, Guernsey, Israel, Jersey, the Isle of Man, Switzerland and the U.S. Department of Commerce Safe Harbor Privacy Principles. Dear All, The At-Large new gTLD Review Group (gTLD RG ; https://community.icann.org/x/u7-bAQ) welcomes comments from ICANN At-Large on the new gTLD applications received by ICANN for its New gTLD program (http://newgtlds.icann.org/en/about) The At-Large comments will be used by the gTLD RG to: 1) draft formal comments for evaluation panels' consideration or on objection grounds to ICANN's new gTLD Application Comments Forum, (https://community.icann.org/x/sxUQAg) during ICANN's Application Comment Period which ends on September 26 2012. The deadline for At-Large comments to be considered by the gTLD RG in time for possible submission during the Application Comment Period is September 10 2012. 2) decide whether to draft a formal objection statement to a gTLD application on limited public interest or community grounds for RALO’s consideration and ALAC's during the 7 month objection period as part of ICANN's Objection and Dispute Resolution Process which ends January 12, 2013. The deadline for At-Large comments to be considered by the gTLD RG in time for possible consideration of objections is anticipated to be the end of October 2012. All At-Large comments received will be kept at the At-Large new gTLD Applications Dashboard at https://community.icann.org/x/w7-bAQ. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Day) we seem to be the only ones that celebrate it on the first Monday in September. Most other countries later in the year or typically May 1. In this case, it is not pride in British spellings that caused me to say that "Labour" is the correct spelling. The concept of celebrating labour started in Canada and was emulated by the US (although it is unclear which made it a federal holiday first). Alan At 03/09/2012 05:20 PM, Salanieta T. Dear All, I was reminded by someone in an email today that it is Labor Day in the US. Members of United Stated Congress have approached the Department of Homeland Security in regards to domains that have been seized by the agency.
