Dear At-Large Community, the recent Statement which was sent to the Public Comment process regarding the Trusted Community Representatives (see call for comments below) has shown that there are differing views in our community. After reading our Community's input, Leo Vegoda has asked if it was possible for the individual commenters who have provided their input to the ALAC process to send in their personal point of view directly to the Public Forum. At-Large Summit II Travel Database

Dear All, The ATLAS II Travel Database is currently being completed by staff. For the ATLAS II event in London in June, each ALS will be able to send one representative. Elected ALAC members and Regional Officers will be serving as the member from their ALS as they officially represent their ALS in addition to their leadership role. In the situation where an ALAC member was appointed to its role by the Nominating Committee (NomCom), and therefore does not officially represent their ALS, the ALS may select one other member from among its membership to represent their ALS. In addition, ALSes which have an ALAC voting delegate to the NomCom as their current representative have been asked by staff to nominate another member from their ALS to represent it at the ATLAS II. This is due to the NomCom schedule at the ICANN Meeting in June being very full and it would be unlikely that a NomCom member would have the time to fully represent their ALS at the ATLAS II. Two days ago the European Commission announced it's policy (video<http://ec.europa.eu/avservices/video/player.cfm?ref=I086325>) calling for "globalization" of Internet Governance. One aspect, in keeping with the Montevideo Statement<http://www.internetsociety.org/news/montevideo-statement-future-internet-co…>, is the suggestion that the IANA contract<http://www.ntia.doc.gov/page/iana-functions-purchase-order> be removed from US control. Larry Strickling of the NTIA responded immediately<http://www.ntia.doc.gov/press-release/2014/statement-assistant-secretary-st…> to the EU statement, supporting it in principle, but notably making no reference to the IANA functions. There was further discussion at the UK IGF yesterday in which Internet Minister Ed Vaizey also spoke in support (video<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo8OOvxvO3s>). The call for comments on the draft was closed on the 7th February, 2014 but has been opened briefly to allow for adjustment. Dear All, The call for comments from At Large closes on 7th February, 2014. There is currently some difference in views on whether the Trusted Community Representatives (TCRs) should have indefinite terms of whether this should rotated. Should TCRs continue to remain self funded or should they be funded? There are also a few other important aspects of this that we would like to consult the wider community on before amending the draft. For those of you who have already commented, thank you. I am mindful that we still have not heard from others.
