Monday October 23rd 2pm setup backline for band 3:30pm stage ready for rehearsals 5:30pm start reception 7:30-8pm end of reception and tear down stage The reception itself will be: 5:30pm - 6:00pm Jazz set 6:00pm - host welcoming speeches (German Government) Once speeches are finished - hopefully within 30 minutes, the Rock set will take over until 7:30-8:00pm. We've got a full set of instruments including an electric violin and 2 saxophones, 2 keyboards, 2 guitars, 1 Bass. A full drum set, lots of mics, lots of music stands as well as percussion (congas etc.)!!! After much searching and asking, GEMS will be able to perform at the Welcome Reception by the Government of Germany. At this point, I'd like to thank them very much because they made the rebirth of GEMS at ICANN possible - not only by offering the space/time, but by fully financing and arranging the instrument and backline rental including the live technicians. Looking at the ad, which masquerades as a pitch for the open source password manager Keepass, there’s no way to know that it’s fake. It’s on Google, after all, which claims to vet the ads it carries. Making the ruse all the more convincing, clicking on it leads to ķeepass[.]info, which, when viewed in an address bar, appears to be the genuine Keepass site. A closer look at the link, however, shows that the site is not the genuine one. In fact, ķeepass[.]info—at least when it appears in the address bar—is just an encoded way of denoting xn--eepass-vbb[.]info, which, it turns out, is pushing a malware family tracked as FakeBat. Combining the ad on Google with a website with an almost identical URL creates a near-perfect storm of deception.”

"*Developers of major pieces of internet software, including the world’s most-popular messaging app, may be relying on seriously outdated lists of top-level domains.* That’s the picture that seems to be emerging from one new gTLD operator’s quest to discover why WhatsApp doesn’t recognize its TLD, and many others including major dot-brands, as valid." ....When most social media apps detect the user has inputted a URL or domain name, they automatically “linkify” it so it can be easily clicked or tapped without the need for copy/paste. But when Rami Schwartz of new gTLD .tube discovered that .tube URLs sent via WhatsApp, said to have two billion users, were not being linkified, despite the TLD being delegated by ICANN almost eight years ago, he set out to find out why. Schwartz compiled a spreadsheet (.xlsx) listing which gTLDs are recognized by WhatsApp and which are not and discovered a rough cut-off point in November 2015. TLDs delegated before then are linkified, those delegated after were not......This means that, for example, .microsoft domains linkify but .amazon and .apple domains do not; .asia domains linkify but .africa and .arab domains do not; .london works but .abudhabi doesn’t. Even .verisign missed the cut-off.
