Fellowship Application Round Opens for ICANN International Public Meeting 42 in Dakar, Senegal

Dear All, Please note the following announcement of the opening of the Fellowship Application Round for the 42nd ICANN meeting to be held in Dakar, Senegal 23-28 October: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is now accepting online applications for the 14th round of the Fellowship program. Successful candidates will participate in the ICANN meeting to be held in Dakar, Senegal 23-28 October 2011. The Fellowship program is open to applicants who are current residents of developing and least developed nations and interested in participating in ICANN and its supporting organizations, constituencies and stakeholder groups. Priority is given to individuals new to the ICANN environment from government and the ccTLD community, as well as those from academic, civil, business and non-profit entities, which are NOT involved in or associated with other ICANN supported travel programs. The program provides the support and opportunity for these participants to gain knowledge on how to have their voices heard in the Internet community and ICANN. More information regarding terms and conditions, as well as eligibility is available online at http://www.icann.org/en/fellowships/ <http://icann.org/en/fellowships/> or email at fellowships(a)icann.org regarding any questions about this process or program. Our organization had changed the Representative Personnel to APRALO from the end of January 2011 and had promptly notified you. You replied to confirm the recordal of the change. However, we are very astonished to see you still list the former Representative Mengxuan Wu (wu.mx(a)hotmail.com<mailto:wu.mx@hotmail.com>) as the eligible voter on behalf of our organization. Ms. Wu was an intern in our International Department and was back to her school after finishing her internship last year. She cannot and should not represent us any more. Your current voting credential would actually deprive our voting right! We strongly wish you to correct the mistake and send us the necessary voting credential immediately. If Ms. Wu had casted the vote without the organization's authorization, we strongly request APRALO to ignore the vote. Dear All, The online election for the open APRALO Chair position has started and will remain open until Thursday 19 May 2011 at 13:00 UTC. All registered ALS representatives should have received a personal email with their voting credentials a couple of minutes ago. There are two candidates for the Chair position: Charles Mok Sivasubramanian Muthusamy (Candidates are listed in alphabetical order by family name.) The new Chair will serve both for an interim term of 14 May 2011 through 30 June 2011 (completing the original term of Professor Xue, who recently resigned as Chair) and for the official term of 01 July 2011 through 30 June 2013. *********** The question to be put will be the following: Who should be elected as the APRALO Chair for the period of two (2) years ?
