English, Francais, Español, Русский Save the date: Tuesday 8th June 2021 - 17:00-19:00 CEST (15:00-17:00 UTC) Flash Pitch Tour of ICANN and At-Large (by EURALO) * You are member of an At-Large Structure (ALS) based in Europe, come to discover or enhance your knowledge of ICANN and At-Large in a new “flash-pitch” format * You are member of an ALS from another part of the World * You are part of the ICANN community * You are new to ICANN You are all also welcome to join the European Regional At-Large Organization, EURALO, for a fast-paced tour of the ICANN Community – in Preparation for ICANN 71, a virtual public meeting of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers in The Hague. Key Internet leaders from the Netherlands and across Europe will present their organizations, their roles in ICANN and their “Calls for Action” in a new “flash-pitch” format. Representatives from ICANN At-Large and for the Governmental Advisory committees will then present their work in a flash-pitch format. Finally, you will be invited to discuss issues with some of the presenters in breakout rooms in English, French, Russian or Spanish. I know that I am not a familiar face in this kind of stage but given the opportunity, I will give my utmost commitment and do what is expected from the role. My eagerness to learn, cooperation and willingness to communicate will be my instruments to perform the duties intended for the position. I have been volunteering as part of selection of several fellowship and ambassadorship committees across the Asia Pacific region and the global arena. All, At the its 20 May 2021 Monthly Call <https://community.icann.org/x/LwHQCQ>, the following recommendation was adopted for APRALO to submit a statement in response to the Call for Public Comments to the GNSO New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Final Outputs for ICANN Board Consideration <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/gnso-gtld-subsequent-procedures-final…> (which closes on 1 June). - That APRALO ought to submit a statement to this Public Comment Process - That a small team of drafters be conscripted to prepare such a statement - That the statement should:- - Endorse the ratified ALAC Advice on Subsequent Procedures of 16 April 2021 <https://atlarge.icann.org/advice_statements/13823> - Emphasize in particular the importance of the following: 1. To facilitate increased adoption of Universal Acceptance (UA) & Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) 2. To facilitate increased & equitable access by “Global South”, community / niche TLD applicants through the Applicant Support Program (ASP) & Community Priority Evaluation (CPE) and a ban on private auctions 3. Dear All, Please see an announcement about the APRALO Mentoring Program below: ** Dear All, On behalf of the APRALO Leadership Team, we are pleased to announce the launch of the APRALO Mentoring Program (AMP<https://community.icann.org/display/APRALO/APRALO+Mentoring+Program>). The goal of the AMP is to help develop the leadership potential of APRALO Members, both ALSes and individual members, as well as to encourage them to take an active part in the work of APRALO and At-Large within ICANN. The AMP will match Mentees with Mentors based on their internet-related backgrounds and networks, language, gender, occupation and academic qualifications, general interests, preferred times for conferencing, and membership status and leadership position. There will be an introductory session for all Mentors and Mentees at the start of the program. Mentors and Mentees will then be requested to be in regular contact throughout the Program. It is time to AMP up your leadership skills!
