I certainly hope so, as I for one am very tired in recieveing this sort of nonsense unsolicited from the dispicable trafficers in it. Unfortunately ICANN and especially it's registries and registrars under contract to ICANN and the DOC/NTIA have been rather lacking in addressing this sort of disgusting nonsense sense ICANN's conception despite repeated calls from various participants, most especially myself. Kudo's to Atty. Gen. Cuomo in NY. Perhaps even the ISOC-NY will join in in assisting Atty. Gen. Cuomo in their home state in promoting and insisting this program/effort be adopted. Perhaps ISOC France will as well, but somehow I doubt it. Now if we can only get the ICANN Bod to mandate some changes in it's RAA contracts with Registries and Registrars whom are effectively aiding and abetting Child Pornography trafficers and hoisting same upon unwitting users everywhere. I imagine many of you have seen this. What do you think? Seems to me that the RALOs and ALAC should register an official opinion on this, probably in Paris. The report's also kind of an interesting read. Joly, Kieren and all, I don't know what the ability of ISOC-NY is for doing what I suggest on a global basis with multipul interoperative participation sites. But I am reasonably sure that C-Span, Turner, and perhaps Skype could together or in the case of Turner, do so rather nicely independantly. Skype may not be able to scale or have the flexable resources necessary independantly. I believe if ICANN ask ( Keiren ? ) Turner or had perhaps Vint Cerf contact George Soros, his old buddy get in touch with Ted Turner, this could be arranged. Beau and all, It has seems to me and all of our members for a number of years now, and almost sense the founding of ICANN, that ICANN meetings should all be avaliable to the extent possible to all whom would wish to participate but are unable to physically attend via satalite link and as many downlink locations throughout the globe as possible. Liaison Reports The IDN Liaison gave an update on IDN activities. Wendy and all, I agree. Registries should not be held accountable for "Content". They are in part at least responsible for DNS configuration as such is a safty and security issue. Which was what this Mcafee study was all about. From my and our members experiance and to a great extent, our independant study, your accurate in that older DN's "Tend", but are all not necessarly less "infested" or "Dangerous" than newer DN's. More problems than that - how do you propose that ALL users get a chance to participate? Web polls and such tools are not sufficient to reach the vast majority of users in the developing world, or do you want to continue to leave us out?
