WEBINAR Conducted in English with Spanish and French interpretation Final Report Overview and Discussion - Joint Applicant Support Working Group (JAS WG) In order to participate, please RSVP via email to the GNSO Secretariat (gnso.secretariat(a)gnso.icann.org<mailto:gnso.secretariat@gnso.icann.org>) to receive the call details and specify which language channel (English, Spanish or French) as well as the time you wish to join. In this webinar, members from the Joint Applicant Support Working Group (JAS WG) will provide ICANN stakeholder groups with an overview of the Final Report.. This report presents a proposal for ICANN to support new gTLD applicants coming from developing nations and is under consideration by ALAC and the GNSO. The report will also be available for public comment in the near future. Amongst other topics, updates will be provided on: a) When should support be provided? b) Who should be approved to receive support? c) How should Support Candidates be evaluated? d) What support specifically should be offered? e) How should the overall support process work? f) How would the support process relate to the gTLD Applicant Guidebook (AG) process? The webinar will take place on September 19th at 12.00 UTC and 22.00 UTC The two sessions are duplicates, scheduled to accommodate different time zones. The recording will be made available shortly after Sept 19 for the community members that are not able to attend any of the scheduled times. Each session, scheduled to run for 90 minutes, will be conducted in English with interpretation in Spanish and French. The meeting will be run in Adobe Connect with a slide presentation along with a dial-in conference bridge for audio. At this time, the Final Report is available in English only. Translations into Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic and Russian will be made available prior to the ICANN Dakar meeting (October 23-28). Participants will have opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session. During the course of the webinar, questions may be submitted using the chat function of Adobe Connect. If you are not able to participate in either of the live sessions, the recording of the session will be made available shortly after the meeting. I am aware of the challenges besetting the Asia Pacific region and the many diverse issues and complexities involved. Recognising the strategic role that the Regional At Large Organisations (RALOs) play in the manner in which Policies are shaped, I recognise the need for powerful collaboration and inclusiveness. I would like to thank the Outgoing APRALO representative who nominated me and the APRALO Chair for seconding the nomination and those that supported the nomination. I would also like to thank all those that voted to enable me to sit in a place of representation, please accept my acknowledgement and gratitude for your support. Nomination for ALAC rep for AP

Dear all, Concerning the recent discussion about the nomination received from Nimrol K Agarwal of Fouad Bajwa for the position of APRALO representative to the ALAC, I have inquired with staff and confirmed that the time-stamp of the nomination email was 7:33am PDT on September 6, which corresponds to 14:33 UTC on 6 September (see: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?iso=20110906&p2=137) The APRALO selection schedule states: “Nominations shall be accepted for one week after the Secretariat calls for nominations up to 6-September-2011.” Charles to state that he has defined “up to” to mean “up to and including” the 6thof September. Therefore, Nirmol’s nomination of Fouad is valid. I have received on Sep 7 an email from Fouad where he gave a clear and concise acceptance of this nomination. Therefore, I will call a vote for the available APRALO ALAC representative to begin ASAP. After consulting with staff, the vote will start on Sep 9 at 23:59 UTC and end on Sep 16 23:59 UTC. Voters will be able to vote for either of the two candidates: Salanieta Tamanikaiwaimaro or Fouad Bajwa. Staff will contact the two candidates to request they send a candidate statement of between 150-200 words. These statements will be posted on the 2011 At-Large Elections Wiki page (see: https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+ALAC+and+RALO+Election… ). The successful candidate will be granted travel support to the ICANN Meeting scheduled to take place in Dakar 23-28 October. Hello all, This is a call for nominations for the opening role we have as APRALO ALAC representative starting from the end of the Dakar meeting for a period of 2 years. Cheryl Langdon-Orr, who will step down after the Dakar meeting has given her all for this role and will be sorely missed. The person elected will have an orientation with Cheryl to go through the duties and responsibilities. Please send any nominations to the list before the 6th of September. Thank you so much for your attention and time. The timeline is as follows 1. Call for Nominations: The Regional Secretariat will make a call for nominations to the Discussion List no later than 31-August-2011. 2. Nomination Period: Nominations shall be accepted for one week after the Secretariat calls for nominations up to 6-September-2011. 3. Acceptance Deadline: The nominees need to accept their nomination no later than seven days after the nomination period ends 13-September-2011. 4. Vote Deadline: If a vote is required, the vote to select a representative shall begin no later than one week after the end of the acceptance deadline 14-September-2011 and end no later than 20-September-2011.
