OK I just went over the archives for the APRALO list and whilst Yes there is no message saying the Oct 28th meeting is postponed and is on the 5th of Nov in Cairo per se. there is plenty of traffic which I believe makes this clear . Yes it was unfortunate that Pavan put out an Agenda saying the 28th but he then rescinded it (all be it now perhaps not clearly enough) with the we'll use this Agenda for the meeting on the 5th and that meeting had plenty of discussion. Obviously when we are all so busy and may only be glancing at message headers all too often we need to be clearer and my personal preference is for the Google Calendar and iCal invitations to be sent to all of our APRALO contacts/ reps and alternates from now on so we all know clearly if anything has changed. And of course we should also expect the usual reminder notice(s) -> which did not occur this time so that might have helped some of us I suppose) That said I sent my message re the postponement as shown below in enough of an advance time I had hoped, that no one should have been misled. Sorry you both were, but again perhaps in future (if this shifting of meeting times and dates ever occurs) staff or someone could monitor the call space during the first 12-15mins of a cancelled call so we ensure no one waits on like that again and of course in a future where a hybrid system with an IRC or Adobe connect room is also being used a message could be placed in there as well. Finally something I will criticise the secretariat for is the lack of summary minutes from the last meeting on our Wiki for the 23rd of Sept as these notes *would* have clearly stated when the next meeting was to be. Senior practitioners from the Asia Pacific and around the world contribute their time to APRICOT as presenters, teachers and trainers, to produce a non-commercial conference of consistently high-quality. Since 2000, APRICOT has incorporated a Fellowship Program to provide opportunities to developing country personnel to participate in APRICOT. This program provides basic assistance to successful fellows to cover local living and registration expenses associated with attending the conference. Dear all, As one of the nominees for the ALAC representative election, I would like to further show my willingness to involve in APRALO/ALAC discussion of important issues and contribute my ideas and insights about Internet Governance for the region in the future. In the past three years, I continuously participate in ICANN-related activities and join the discussion of IDN and IPv6 of different working groups under the structure of ICANN and APNIC. With the understanding of the complicities and importance of those discussions on technical development and Internet Governance, I fully realize that the position of ALAC representative would be critical to the future development of Internet not only in the region but the world. Extension of ALAC vote

Dear APRALO staff and colleagues, Due to the email deliverable issues and the fact that less than 50% of eligible votes have occurred, could you please extend the time period for the ALAC vote until UTC 23:00 Friday October 24 2008. Furthermore could you also contact each ALS that has yet to vote an individual email with the credentials. Voting Credentials

Dear authorised ALS representatives: As you will remember, we sent out a listing of those person whom we believe were the authorised voters for each ALS some time ago. We asked you all to ensure that the information we had was accurate. We have sent credentials out accordingly and in several cases found out that our information wasn't accurate, and we have then modified the voting rolls accordingly and resent credentials to the correct address. This also has the effect of cancelling the previously-issued credentials for those addresses which have received incorrect credentials. For those of you who have reported not receiving your credentials, if you have not done so, in the first instance please do check your spam filters. As you all know, we have used this system for two years now and the instances where credentials did not arrive and were not stuck in spam filters are extremely rare. We will keep resending credentials but if you haven't received it the second time, the answer almost certainly lies in spam filtering.
