Dear All, The nomination period for the AFRALO representative in the At-Large Advisory Committee has recently ended. According to our information and as noted on the regional election page (see https://st.icann.org/afralo/index.cgi?2009_election_calls_afralo) only one candidate has been nominated by AFRALO for the two year term in the ALAC starting at the close of the Annual General Meeting 2009 in Seoul. Dear All, The At-Large community is requested to review the At-Large Review Implementation Outline. https://st.icann.org/alac-docs/index.cgi?at_large_review_implementation_outl ine_al_alac_st_0909_1. The deadline for comments is 30th September 2009. Please make your comments directly to the wiki using the red comment button as soon as possible. At the public board meeting on 26th June 2009 (see http://www.icann.org/minutes/resolutions-26jun09.htm (english only), the Board of ICANN approved all but one recommendation of the At-Large Review Working Group in its Final Report of 6th June 2009 (see http://www.icann.org/en/reviews/alac/final-report-alac-review-28jan09-en.pdf ). The ALAC requested that the Staff create a draft At-Large Review Implementation Plan Outline containing all the recommendations and sub-recommendations in the Final Report for the entire At-Large community to review and comment upon. The draft under consultation is that document. Once the consultation is over, the results are to be incorporated into a final Outline plan which the ALAC will vote upon; once ratified the plan will then be transmitted to the Board for review at the Seoul meeting. *Why Is This Important?* The recommendations in the At-Large Review Final Report will have important transformative impacts upon the At-Large community and its interactions with other parts of ICANN. This outline plan is At-Larges chance to influence these transformations at a high level, and in particular to indicate what priority the various recommendations should have with respect to one another. L'ALAC a demandé que le personnel créent un contour At-Large de plan d'exécution de revue d'ébauche contenant toutes les recommandations et secondaire-recommandations dans le rapport final pour que la communauté At-Large entière passe en revue et de commente au moment. L'ébauche sous la consultation est ce document. Une fois que la consultation est terminée, les résultats doivent être incorporés à un schéma directeur final sur lequel l'ALAC votera; une fois que ratifié le plan sera alors communiqué à le conseil pour la revue lors de la réunion de Séoul. Est-ce que Pourquoi est-ce que c'est important? Les recommandations dans le rapport final de revue At-Large auront des impacts transformatifs importants sur la communauté At-Large et ses interactions avec d'autres parties d'ICANN. BACKGROUND: As you know, In its meeting of 27th August 2009, the ICANN Board of Directors unanimously resolved as follows: 'IT IS RESOLVED THAT the recommendation of the BRWG (Board Review Working Group) to add one voting director appointed from the At-Large Community to the ICANN Board of Directors, and removing the present ALAC Liaison to the Board, is approved in principle for implementation. Staff is directed to identify all steps required to achieve the implementation of this principle, after issuing of the BRWG Final Report.' The proposal that one or more voting Director seats on the ICANN Board should be selected by the At-Large community is a recommendation of the recently-completed At-Large Independent Review process. The other recommendations in the Final Report of the Board's At-Large Review Working Group were approved by the Board during their meeting at the Sydney ICANN meeting in June. As referenced in the final part of the resolution, the next step in the implementation of the resolution will be the presentation at the Seoul meeting of the full report of the BRWG (Board Review Working Group), as this element of change of the Board is a part of the broader Board review process. In the meantime, the At-Large community's ALAC has resolved upon drawing up a process to submit to the Structural Improvements Committee of the Board at the Seoul ICANN Meeting.
