Dear Verengai and Nomsa, ICANN's At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) is pleased to inform you that (225) ISOC Zimbabwe been certified as an At-Large Structure (ALS). The ALAC greatly appreciates your group's interest in involving individual users in ICANN and looks forward to working with you and your colleagues. The purpose of ALS certification is to recognize that your organization meets the necessary criteria to involve individual Internet users at the local or issue level in ICANN activities, and that your organization will support its individual members' informed participation in ICANN efforts that affect end-users. The ALAC is eager to promote a productive working relationship between your organization, other ALS, and the ALAC (and ICANN in general), and your input on how we can make this a success would be greatly appreciated. We would like to offer some initial tools to help your organization keep its members informed (about significant news from ICANN and information on ICANN policy-development efforts) and engaged in activities of interest: - Point of Contact for your Organisation: Please send an email to mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org identifying the names and email addresses of one or two individuals who will be the point of contact for information and correspondence regarding ICANN At-Large. This award program, launched in June 2014 in London, seeks to recognize long-standing community members who have served in leadership roles in multiple ICANN working groups or committees, and demonstrated collaboration with different Supporting Organizationsand/or Advisory Committees. The Multistakeholder Ethos Award will recognize ICANN participants who have deeply invested in consensus-based solutions, acknowledging the importance of ICANN's multistakeholder model of Internet governance, and contributed in a substantive way to the higher interests of ICANN's organization and its community. The nomination period for community nominees opens today, 10 December 2015 and closes on12 March 2016. Community members interested in submitting a nomination are invited to send an email toethosaward2016(a)icann.org<mailto:ethosaward2016@icann.org?subject=Multistakeholder%20Ethos%20Award%20Nomination> including: * Name of nominee. * Community of nominee. * Reasons for nomination. Dear All, The FY17 Special Community Request process has started. This process pertains to a dedicated part of the overall ICANN annual budget that is set aside to fund specific requests from the community for activities that are not already included in the recurring ICANN budget. FY17 Special Community Requests cover the period 1 July 2016 through 30 June 2017. Activities to improve engagement with existing members is encouraged. * If any request is made on outreach, it should probably go through the CROPP program and not this special request process. * Proposals should include ways in which will make the ALAC and/or the At-Large community more effective and develop the At-Large community. * RALO requests must go through a bottom up process within their RALO prior to being submitted for consideration by the FBSC. * RALOs should consider the General Assembly/Summit timeline * They must be explicitly supported by the RALO representative on the FBSC. * Staff is currently expecting that basic resources for community communications/printing will be supported through the core ICANN budget, but that community proposals for printing , etc. will be accepted as a back-up in case expectations change. Specific proposals for communications resources beyond simple printing and editing functions should be prepared and submitted. Call for Volunteers: Advisory Panel on gTLD Marketplace Health Index

Dear All, ICANN is calling for community volunteers to participate in the Advisory Panel on gTLD Marketplace Health Index. This Advisory Panel will review the proposed KPIs in the preliminary proposal of gTLD Marketplace Health Index<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/gtld-marketplace-health-index-p…>, as well as the suggested potential updates in light of the public comment<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/gtld-marketplace-health-2015-11-17-en> on this preliminary proposal. The Advisory Panel will also be asked to assist ICANN in finalizing the list of KPIs and in setting proposed benchmarks for measuring the health of the global gTLD marketplace. As an FYI, the ALAC has responded to the public comment on the gTLD Marketplace Health Index Proposal and submitted a Statement: https://newatlarge.icann.org/advice_statements/9745. At-Large members interested in this topic are welcome to join the Advisory Panel. FYI "We have just been informed that OPGA has made two changes to the civil society speakers nominated for WSIS+10. Tatiana Kapinga, who was unable to secure a US visa, and Anriette Esterhuysen, who was unable to stay to address the meeting, were replaced by Deborah Brown of APC and Matthew Shears of Center for Democracy and Technology. "While not wishing to be critical of either of the people chosen, The Civil Society Selection Committee believes that, despite the short timeframe, it should have been consulted about these changes. In particular, we are concerned that the changes made by OGPA resulted in four of our five speakers being from WEOG areas. This lack of geographic balance is unfortunate, and could have been avoided. "We will convey our disappointment to OPGA at a later stage, but wanted civil society networks to be aware of this issue." Compliments
