Appel à manifestation d'intérêt (SOI) de la communauté At-Large de l'ICANN pour la considération d’être sélectionné par le Comité Consultatif de l'ICANN (ALAC) pour faire office de membre du Conseil de Direction de l'ICANN (terme limité). 21 Juillet 2010 L’Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) se charge d’allouer l’espace des adresses de protocole Internet (IP), d’attribuer les identificateurs de protocole, de gérer le système de nom de domaine (tels que .org et .museum) et les codes nationaux (tels que .uk et .ke). Sans cette coordination, nous n'aurions pas un internet global. La communauté At-Large et l’office de membre du Conseil de Direction de l’ICANN Cet appel à manifestation d'intérêt (SOI) fait partie du nouveau processus par lequel la communauté des utilisateurs individuels d'internet (At-Large) de l'ICANN nommera un membre votant au conseil d'administration de l'ICANN. En qualité de membre du Conseil d'administration de l’ICANN, ce membre doit être capable de refléter les avis et intérêts des utilisateurs dans les débats et la prise de décisions concernant l'ICANN. Call for Statements of Interest (SOIs) from ICANN's At-Large Community for consideration to be selected by the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) to serve as a (term-limited) member of the ICANN Board of Directors 21 July 2010 The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is responsible for the global coordination of the Internet's system of unique identifiers – including domain names (such as .org and .museum), country codes (such as .uk and .ke) and the addresses used in a variety of Internet protocols – that help computers reach each other over the Internet. Without this coordination, we would not have one global Internet. The At-Large Community and the ICANN Board seat This Call for Statements of Interest (SOIs) is part of the new process through which the user community within ICANN will appoint one voting member of the ICANN Board. While acting in a personal capacity as a member of the ICANN Board, this member must be able to reflect the users' point of view and interests in the debate and decision making undertaken within the ICANN framework. In seeking candidates for this post, ICANN's At-Large Community is looking for an individual with a broad international perspective and a background in Internet users' interests, consumer policy and/or civil society worldwide. "At-Large" is the name of the community of individual Internet users involved in ICANN's policy development process. It currently consists of over 120 active At-Large organisations (called "At-Large structures" or "ALSes"), representing the opinions of the global community of Internet users. At-Large provides a means through which individual end users of the Internet worldwide can participate in the matters on which ICANN works, such as: • Guidance on how to run Internationalized Domain Names (IDN); • How to introduce new gTLDs (such as .info, .name and .museum); and • How to implement a stable and fair transition from IPv4 to the next Internet addresses generation, IPv6. But what I would like to know if the three years proposed are justified. Anyway, I support the proposal. English below -------------------- Chers tous, Comme décidé lors de notre téléconférence du 7 Juillet, voici un projet de commentaire sur la proposition de modification des statuts pour permettre la selection par At-Large dun Directeurs au Board dICANN. Jattends vos réactions jusquau Lundi 12 Juillet. Commentaire dAFRALO sur lamendement des statuts dICANN relatif à la sélection par At-Large dun Directeur au conseil dadministration avec droit de vote Même si nous sommes conscients de la nécessité dune synchronisation du mandat du Directeur du Board sélectionné par At-Large avec ceux des autres directeurs sélectionnés par les SOs, nous considérons quun premier mandat de 6 mois ne peut être suffisant pour quun directeur entre dans le processus et se familiarise avec le travail du conseil dadministration. Plutôt quune période transitoire de 6 mois, nous proposons une période transitoire de 42 mois (3 ans et demi) qui satisferait la nécessité davoir un mandat synchronisé avec ceux des autres directeurs des SOs, et qui serait une période raisonnable pour un Directeur du Board effectif et efficace.
