CALL FOR EoIs for ALAC/At-Large Member on the NextGen Selection Committee and as a NextGen Mentor

Dear All, Maureen Hilyard, Chair of the ALAC, is requesting Expressions of Interest (EoIs) to represent the ALAC/At-Large on the NextGen Selection Committee and as a NextGen Mentor. Details of the positions are noted in the announcement below. EOIs for either the position of representative on the NextGen Selection Committee or the NextGen Mentor should be sent to At-Large staff by Thursday, 12 November at 23:59 UTC. The 2021 ALAC Appointee Selection Committee (AASC) will review all EoIs and appoint the two representatives. The deadline for the selection of representatives has been extended to 15 November. Announcement<https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2020-09-28-en>: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) invites ICANN's Supporting Organizations, Advisory Committees, Stakeholder Groups, Constituencies, and Regional At-Large Organizations to nominate volunteers to serve on the NextGen@ICANN Selection Committee and to serve as NextGen@ICANN mentors. Each group is welcome to nominate one individual for each role. * Selection Committee: A time commitment of approximately 20 hours over three weeks for each application round is required. Selection Committee members will typically serve for two years, or six application rounds. * Mentors: A time commitment of approximately 24 hours each round is expected, including extensive pre-meeting preparation and on-site support for their assigned NextGen mentees. Mentors spend about 10 hours per week during the 6-week preparation period in advance of the meeting and about two hours per day providing on-site support at the ICANN meeting. Mentors will typically serve for one year, or three meetings. Mentors are expected to follow NextGen@ICANN Program<https://www.icann.org/public-responsibility-support/nextgen> guidelines to help ensure consistency in capacity development opportunities. Mentors will receive travel funding support. Mentors cannot serve on the Selection Committee at the same time they are serving as mentors. If several community groups nominate volunteers for each role, the length of service may be reduced to allow for greater stakeholder diversity. *La version française est en dessous de la version anglaise* Dear All, On behalf of Seun Ojedeji, AFRALO Chair, this is a call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to apply for the AFRALO Regional liaison on the ALAC Sub-committee on Outreach and Engagement<https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ALAC+Subcommittee+on+Outreach+a…> (OE-SC). The OE-SC develops strategy to: * Reach out to potential members of the At-Large Community (Outreach), and * Engage new and existing members of the At-Large Community (Engagement) The Regional liaisons have the following responsibilities: Outreach and Engagement • Collaboratively develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to grow and deepen ICANN At-Large’s relationship with our current members and partner organizations and identify areas for collaboration. • Lead efforts to expand the membership of ICANN At-Large among the community and domain-based organizations, build members identify, and increase the positioning of ICANN At-Large among the domain services sector. • Develop a plan to better involve and incorporate feedback from members directly impacted by ICANN At-Large programs and advocacy campaigns in the design and implementation of ICANN Strategy and O&E strategy. • Support efforts of the Policy team to identify new and emerging policy trends, align advocacy priorities with member needs, and better engage members and allies in our policy advocacy work. • Supports the Capacity-building team to develop programming that meets the needs of members, encourages expanded understanding of ICANN Policy issue areas, and supports our policy priorities. Outcome-Based Action & Knowledge Management • Collaborate with Capacity Building and Policy teams in the evaluation and improvement of engagement, including the development of webinars and around hot topics/issues at hand within the ICANN eco-system. • Continually evaluate operation of team/function to ensure on-going effectiveness and impact of ICANN At-Large’s outreach and engagement efforts • Ensure development and implementation of a clear strategy on development, production and dissemination of program materials which may enhance knowledge, understanding, and impact of ICANN At-Large’s work. Leadership and Management • Build and lead high-impact regional O&E team; define objectives and processes for your respective region • Collaborate closely with the Capacity Building and Policy leadership teams to ensure the alignment of work across teams including the social media teamand regional leaders • Liaise closely with the ICANN At-Large’s leadership team to ensure strategic use of media to enable and facilitate ICANN At-Large’s positioning across its core areas, the appropriate use of ICANN At-Large’s resources.
