Dear all, The Briefing Session on ICANN¹s new gTLD program will be on Wednesday, 11 June at 1330 UTC. Ms. Karla Valente, from ICANN¹s new gTLD program and Mr. Olof Nordling, Manager of Policy Development Coordination will give a presentation on the new gTLD programme, including an update on the staff implementation planning. The briefing is designed to focus on the programme from an Internet end-users¹ perspective; members of GNSO constituencies are being invited to join the briefing. Subsequently, they will be available to answer some of your questions, both about the GNSO Policy presented to the Board and the implementation planning for the programme. My colleagues at the APRALO would be grateful for your suggestions on the following issues: Could we apply for a session at the plenary, rather than a parallel workshop? This is a the first IGF in AP region that is most Internet populous. APRALO would like to do more contribution for the Internet users in this region. Dear all, This is to confirm that Mr Kevin Wilson, ICANN¹s Chief Financial Officer, will give a briefing session on the Draft Operational Plan and Budget for FY 08/09. Tuesday, 10 June 12:30 UTC (one hour before the start of the monthly ALAC teleconference). There will be French and Spanish interpretation for this call. As you can imagine, it takes a considerable amount of resources to organize a multilingual presentation and it is only worth doing if there is a real interest from the non-English speaking language communities for these events. "Fast flux" is an evasion technique that cyber-criminals and Internet miscreants use to evade identification and to frustrate law enforcement and anticrime efforts aimed at locating and shutting down web sites used for illegal purposes. Fast flux hosting supports a wide variety of cyber-crime activities (fraud, identity theft, online scams) and is considered one of the most serious threats to online activities today. One variant of fast flux hosting, "double flux", exploits the domain name registration and name resolution services.
