Rod Rasmussen is VP of cybersecurity at Infoblox. He is widely recognized as a leading expert on the abuse of the domain name system by criminals. Rasmussen co-founded and led the technical side of IID, a cybersecurity company focused on cyber incident response and information sharing which was purchased by Infoblox in early 2016. Rasmussen has is a highly active participant, often in leadership roles in industry and other global organizations addressing many of the cybersecurity issues of the day. Rasmussen is co-chair of the Anti-Phishing Working Group’s (APWG) Internet Policy Committee and serves as an APWG Industry Liaison. In this role, he works closely with ICANN, the international oversight body for domain names, and is a member of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC). Rasmussen is a member of the Online Trust Alliance’s (OTA) Steering Committee and is a member of the FCC's Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (FCC CSRIC). Rasmussen is also an active participant in the Messaging Malware Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG), and is IID's Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) representative. He is a regular participant in DNS-OARC meetings, the worldwide organization for major DNS operators, registries and interested parties. This At-Large Briefing Session will feature Matt Larson, Vice President of Research for the CTO office at ICANN, who will give a presentation and answer questions on the upcoming DNSSEC root key-signing key (KSK) rollover being planned by ICANN. The root KSK is the most important cryptographic key in the DNS security extensions, or DNSSEC. DNSSEC protects end users from receiving spoofed data and prevents attacks such as being misdirected to a malicious web site. This cryptographic key will be changed, or rolled over, in late 2017. While the actual change isn't happening until next year, an important aspect of the project is getting the word out to those who need to know about the change and take action, such as network administrators and software developers. Call for Expressions of Interest (EoIs) for the At-Large Board Member Position 2017

On behalf of the Board Candidate Evaluation Committee (BCEC), we are seeking Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from Candidates who wish to serve as an ICANN Board Director. The selected Candidate will be chosen by the At-Large Community, and will serve for a 3-year term starting at the end of ICANN60 (2017 Annual General Meeting - AGM). Background Seat number 15 of the ICANN Board of Directors is dedicated to a member selected by the At-Large Community. This seat is currently occupied by Rinalia Abdul Rahim, who assumed the position at the end of ICANN51 (2014 AGM). Her 3-year term will be completed at the closing of ICANN60 (2017 AGM). Pursuant to Section 19 of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) Rules of Procedure<http://tinyurl.com/ALAC-RoP-2016-09> (version adopted on 20 September 2016), the At-Large Community process for selecting the next Board Director began in September 2016, with the appointment of the Chairs and Members of the BCEC and the Board Member Selection Process Committee (BMSPC). The BCEC is responsible for outlining Candidate requirements and expectations, calling for, identifying, and evaluating applications, and compiling the initial slate of Candidates for the Board Director position. The BMSPC oversees the entire selection process for the At-Large Board Member, including the development of the selection timeline and the election finalizing the process. Both groups have regionally balanced membership and operate in accordance with a strict code of conduct and confidentiality.
