*Estimados compañeros de LacRalo*: Mail anterior estuve comentando que había pasado en la webinar de las UDRP tan importante que hubo. Y que después de mucho tiempo se abre la posibilidad de revisión de las políticas, con muchos intereses en juego, muchos actores involucrados y por lo tanto muchos usuarios finales de Internet que se verán afectados por las mismas. En continuación de esta tarea es que estando abierto a comentarios públicos http://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/#prelim-report-udrp invito a ustedes a que se me sumen en la tarea de poder elaborar un documento para poder elevar a ALAC y entregarlo antes del vencimiento el día 15 de Julio. El staff de ICANN está buscando comentarios sobre su informe preliminar de UDRP *Preliminary Issue Report on the Current State of the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy<http://gnso.icann.org/issues/prelim-report-current-state-udrp-27may11-en.pdf> * [PDF, 2.25 MB]. El informe describe cómo la Política Uniforme ha abordado el problema de la ciberocupación hasta la fecha, y hace recomendaciones sobre si el Consejo de la GNSO debería ser el revisor de las Política Uniforme. En concreto, este informe aborda: 1) Cómo la Política Uniforme ha abordado el problema de la ciberocupación hasta la fecha, y las insuficiencias o las desigualdades asociadas con el proceso. 2) Si la definición de ciberocupación inherentes en el actual lenguaje de la Política Uniforme debe ser revisado o actualizado. El GNSO ya está trabajando en estas cuestiones http://gnso.icann.org/issues/udrp/ , y Carlos Aguirre, es una de las personas que integra el grupo de trabajo que estarán buscando desarrollar una PDP en esta materia. Aquellos que no pudieron participar de la webinar tienen la posibilidad de ver revivirla en https://community.icann.org/display/gnsoudrpdt/Webinar+on+the+Current+State… la misma una duración de 2 horas y 25 minutos. Lo que me gustaría es que participe alguien de los que estarán presentes en el próximo meeting de ICANN en Singapur, ya que el día 22 de junio a las 08:30 hs (Singapur) en el “Raffles Ballroom” se desarrollara el “The Current State of the UDRP<http://singapore41.icann.org/node/24551>”. Increase of the Registrar Accreditation Application Fee and Introduction of Further Due Diligence Background Checks

Dear All, On April 21 2011, The ICANN Board of Directors voted to approve an increase of the Registrar Accreditation Application Fee to offset the costs for ICANN to conduct additional due diligence checks on applicants applying to become an ICANN-accredited registrar. http://www.icann.org/en/minutes/resolutions-21apr11-en.htm#3 Registrars are the organizations accredited by ICANN that processes the registration for the domain name (once the domain name is available) and transmits the name and registration details to the registry operator which operates the registry (the master database) for the generic Top Level Domain (gTLDs). Currently, there are 21 gTLDs including .com, .net and .org >From July 1 2011, Applicants applying to become an ICANN-accredited registrar will pay a non-refundable fee of $3,500 US. The additional due diligence checks on applicants will include reviews of: * Criminal records; * Credit records; * Financial history and solvency; * Corporate/company structure and ownership.
