Dear all, This is to inform you that on the 12 April 2017, we received an ALS application from ISOC Paraguay. https://community.icann.org/display/LACRALO/ISOC+Paraguay It is based in Paraguay and would be a member of LACRALO, if accepted. LACRALO must provide with regional advice for this ALS. The due date for the regional advice is the 07 June 2017 this means that our deadline for comments will be the 06 June 2017 at 23 UTC. Vanda, el mismo argumento de haberr estado en el tema desde 2010 invita también a algunas consideraciones diferentes: 1. en fechas recientes pudimos observar que en LACRALO imperan puntos e vista diversos y hasta opuestos sobre los ccTLDs y el control que éstos deben tener sobre las combinaciones de caracteres similares a las de sus nombres de dos y de tres caracteres; no se alcanzó un consenso; 2. sería pertinente que presentaras un informe acerca del estado de la cuestión en general, y de los puntos que siguen sin resolver; 3. entre las organizaciones de LACRALO hay algunos conflictos de interés en esta materia; por ejemplo, algunas organizaciones son también operadoras de ccTLDs, otras tienen intervenciones en el mercado de nombres genéricos, y en otras los directivos son simuláneamente funcionarios públicos y representantes nacionales ante el GAC; 4. sería conveniente que además de proponer tu propio nombre dieras a conocer al menos dos alternativas, para poder analizar con libertad si conviene más la continuidad o la rotación, y ciertamente para que al menos un representante te acompañe en estas funciones con el objeto de desarrollar la capacidad de que te substituya posteriormente. Lo mismo se aplica a otros grupos de trabajo y participantes. El grupo de trabajo de gobernanza haría una gran contribución si estudiara el número máximo de cargos simultáneos que puede servir un representante individual. Dear all – I do not know how each region will be selected reason why I am adding lACRALO list to listen their opinion. I would like to put my name to be "LAC region" member as suggested by GNSO ( not ALAC formal member) Thank you for your consideration This is being proposal by Jeff Neuman right now, and I believe it is a god idea and this idea will make the groups a much more efficienc, more transparent and taking the opinion of each region by ALAC, by Governments…., for a process for the track 5 - the cross community geographic names. I am on Track 1 on Subsequent Procedures working group too. I am jump before hand just because following this since 2010 I have been quite interested in the the issue. Dear LACRALO members, Due to the comments made by email, that are on the wiki site too (https://community.icann.org/display/LACRALO/ISOC+Paraguay) you can appreciate than 6 people representing 6 ALS have issued a favorable opinion regarding aceptance of ISOC Paraguay, as a new ALS. On the other hand, from the revision of minimum criteria for being an ALS (https://atlarge.icann.org/archive/correspondence-structures-app-ES) we conclude that ISOC Paraguay meets the minimum criteria to be considered in a future ALS.
