Votes on Bills Spreadsheet, Stacking Issues

Dear colleagues, I managed to cast my votes on Bills spreadsheet. Sorry for overlooking the other sheets before. In those spreadsheets, I saw five cases, with a stacking issue in Courier, with a comment "Stacking issue, which IP says to ignore“. It is my understanding that IP suggested for us to ignore the issues with Courier New, since it was a font not being updated anymore. However I did not understand their comment in such a way, that we should ignore all cases, in which stacking issues manifest. Although these stacking issues had no impact on my own rating of the variant candidates under review, we should investigate wether the same stacking issue occurs in a significant number of other fonts, because then it might give way to a variant relationship. Apostrophe vs Caron and Horn

Dear colleagues, Here is a wordmark display of letters followed by apostrophe vs the same letters with caron or horn. See the Comment at the end of Section 5.4. My sense is that, while side-by-side the difference is spacing is apparent, in a domain name a user would be unable to spot the difference. And thus, per the exclusion of punctuation and marks similar to punctuation, these code points ought to be excluded. (Personally, I don't think the exclusion of punctuation, except for periods, makes much sense. But that's the rule we are supposed to be following.) Latin GP Task 6

This task appears to have two separate parts. 1) ASCII variants resulting from Transitivity At the meeting with the Armenian, Cyrillic, Greek, and Latin GPs in Montreal, the IP noted that cross-script variants and transitivity resulted in Latin Small Letter V and Latin Small Letter Y being variants -- which, since they are ASCII characters, is not allowed. The cause (at least part of the cause) was determined to be the Greek GP's finding that Greek Small Letter Nu and Greek Small Letter Gamma are variants. That finding also resulted in an in-script Cyrillic variant which the Cyrillic GP found unacceptable. The result of discussion between the GPs was that the Greek GP would reconsider their finding regarding Nu and Gamma. Thus no action is required of the Latin GP. 2) Variants due to Transitivity A complete listing will, of course, await finalizing our decisions on Latin in-script variants. But I have started creating tables for them. For example, for Cyrillic cross-script variants, each case we found will also require a new transitivity listing for each of the Latin in-script variants we find for the Latin element in the cross-script variant. Tedious to generate, or course, but not calling for any particular decision process by us. Please let me know if you read the IP's comments differently. Dear Pitinan, Dear Sarmad, Please forward this version of Latin GP Report to IP as discussed with IP members during ICANN66 Montreal meeting. In this working document Latin GP addressed some TBD issues mentioned by IP. Some TBD issues could not be addressed in this version, because some more discussion in the Latin GP is necessary. All TBD form IP have been written in red ink. All addressed TBD are marked green. I am sending two versions of the working document. * Version 2019-12-04 is with track changes * Version 2019-12-05 is with all changes accepted and some additional TBD resolved.
