Hi Pitinan — thank you for the notes and for clarifying that the context of the conversation was an informal gathering.
Best,
Dennis

Dear all,
There was a meeting to review the draft reference LGR on 25 Aug 2022. The attendee were: Bill, Hazem, Mirjana, Michael.
It was an informal meeting beyond the scope of RZ-LGR work, therefore, during the meeting it was decided the recording was not needed.
Here is the summary notes from the meeting on 25 Aug 2022.
· Additional digits and hyphen in the repertoire was agreed.
· It was agreed to add a sequence of l·l (006C 00B7 006C)
o add a variant of l·l (006C 00B7 006C) and l-l(006C 002D 006C). l·l --> l-l is allocatable. l-l --> l·l is blocked.
o add relevant rules to limit the number of allocatable variant labels due to the additional code point sequences.
· It was discussed if the second-level should expand the variant sets threshold can be changed from 5 out of 7 to 3 out of 7.
We have incorporated the first point in the public comment version, for the second point, we look forward to further input from broader community via public comment platform.
It might be useful reach out directly to difference SOs/ACs or other organizations and invite them to provide their comments.
If you could suggest who we should reach out to directly, kindly let us know.
Best Regards,
Pitinan

Removing non-panel members.
Thanks, Bill. What I meant is that the work of the panel i.e., the proposal, did not contain any recommendations pertaining to second level LGRs.
The last meeting on record (per the wiki) is the one of 24 January 2022, which I attended, but the topic in question was not discussed. Could you or someone point me to the notes or recordings to the meeting in which second level guidance was deliberated? I may have indeed missed it because I couldn’t find any record beyond 24 Jan.
Thank you,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Actually, we were asked about Second Level. And had a meeting to discuss our response.
I realize that you did not attend that final meeting of the Panel. But we were asked. And did respond as indicated. Perhaps you could check the recording of the meetimg.

Dear colleagues,
At our last meeting, my recollection is that we decided that, for Second Level Domain Names, the variant sets should be expanded to include those pairs for which 3 of us (rather than 5) had favored designation of variant status. This because, unlike Top Level Domain Names, there can be no manual review of SLDs. I see no sign that this has been recognized in the Second-Level Reference Label Generation Rules here.
I will be putting in a comment to that effect. But I wonder if we might wish to make the point as a group.

There are two in-script sequences that do not add to the set of valid labels under this LGR but are defined for use in variants.
