Mirjana, there's nothing 'romantic' about language data, how you look at linguistic information depends on which scjhool of linguistics you come from! The training I had recommends that if you look at your data unbiased and without a theory in mind,, patterns will emerge. My suggestion is we start by allocating a certain number of languages to each member. I'll listen to the recording and revise my notes later, please comment 1. Sarmad shared ARABIC GP's work to set an example 2. Highlighted the issue of 'combined marks' and how they should be treated 3. They should be treated as Sequences rather than code points 4. Mirjana thinks diacritics by themselves should be excluded 5. Sarmad underlined 'contextual motivation' 6. In the course of our work new code points are expected to be discovered and we'll move on from MSR2 to MSR3 7. What to do with letters not existing in MSR2 8. Are the principles used by the other script groups (eg arabic) applicable to Latin? 9. How to draft new principles? 10. First round of RGIDS languages 1-4 to be circulated (180)

Dear GP members, please find enclosed summarized information about our future calls, and explanation from Sarmad about Variant group calls. * We shall have Panel phone calls every second week at 12:00 UTC starting from Tuesday next week i.e May the 30th. * Repertoire phone calls will be every second week at 17:00 UTC starting from Tuesday May 23rd . * Variant phone call is scheduled this week at 15:00 UTC on Friday 26th of May - this shedule might change in future. Sarmad is not organizing the variant group call - that is managed by the Dennis, who is chairing it. So those members wanting to attend it should connect with Dennis directly. Regards Mirjana
