Dear all, With the discussion in the LACRALO bylaw working group and further discussion among several of the ALSes at the ICANN meeting in Cartagena, Colombia regarding participation of ALSes in LACRALO, it was decided by the LACRALO President and Secretariat to have : - a conference call with ALSes from the Latin American region (with Spanish interpretation) - a conference call with ALSes from the Caribbean region Both of these conference calls would take place before the monthly LACRALO conference call. The suggested agenda of these two regional conference calls : - hear what ALSes have to say regarding their involvement in LACRALO and the way forward for improved ALS participation in LACRALO. - what information is needed by ALSes and its members to better participate in LACRALO. A series of possible briefing calls could then be planned. - mention of the possible LACRALO bylaw modifications to address participation in LACRALO. - a discussion regarding the idea of possible regional balance of the ALAC representatives from LACRALO so that one ALAC Representative from an ALS from the Latin American region and one ALAC Representative from an ALS in the Caribbean region. The call will be scheduled for 90 minutes with interpretation for Spanish and English. 2011 election call for LACRALO chair and secretariat

Dear all, According to the LACRALO Operating Principles and the Rules of Procedure (https://community.icann.org/display/LACRALO/LACRALO+Organising+Documents) the term of the president of LACRALO and the secretariat of LACRALO is one year each. The terms of the current LACRALO president and secretariat will end on April 14th, 2011 (see announcement from April 15th, 2010: http://atlarge-lists.icann.org/pipermail/lac-discuss-en/2010/002631.html) The current president is Andres Piazza from AGEIA DENSI, and is willing to serve another term. The current secretariat is Dev Anand Teelucksingh from Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society and is willing to serve another term. While there was agreement in the run-up to the elections in 2010 to having such officers serve for a two year term, the relevant Bylaw provisions have not yet been endorsed by the LACRALO membership. Since these officers can only be elected by a LACRALO general assembly, it is the intention to have a virtual assembly if there is any other representative from an accredited ALS in LACRALO who wishes to stand for either - the post of LACRALO president. or - the post of LACRALO secretariat. These candidates MUST email the secretariat at admin(a)ttcsweb.org within four weeks from the date of this posting (by March 24, 2011). Dear All: I`m seriously concerned, because I did not see any of our ALAC representatives in the adobe chat room this morning. I did not stay at consumer protection session, because I had another compromises. The present people in the Brussels GAC + Board meeting (adobe chat room), could summarize me what was on this session? I think is very important to know about this. Maybe Cynthia or Fatima, please? Was a really pity, didn`t see anyone our ALAC representatives there, maximum when they have responsabilities to inform us. I guess this meeting will be the point of central debate in San Francisco, for that we need an excerpt before the meeting. Perhaps we could elaborate some statement about that. whta do you think about that?
